These data were compiled to evaluate the reproductive ecology of Agassiz's desert tortoises (Gopherus agassizzi) in the Sonoran Desert of California using two populations within Joshua Tree National Park, including five reproductive seasons that spanned 20 years (1997-1999, 2015-2016). Compared to their conspecifics inhabiting the Mojave Desert, the reproductive ecology of G. agassizii in the Sonoran Desert is understudied. Climatic variation between the two deserts can affect reproductive ecology, including fecundity and clutch phenology. This data set includes WRTDS nutrient flux trend results and the values of daily streamflow trend results displayed in the Quantile-Kendall plots. For 1995-2015 nutrient trends, the method of generalized flow normalization (FNG) was used which explicitly addresses non-stationary streamflow conditions. This dataset consists of measurements of the digestive gland in the freshwater snail Lymnaea stagnalis orally exposed to uranium. The objective of the study was to assess the morphological effects of uranium on the snail digestive gland by light microscopy. Laboratory-cultured L stagnalis were exposed to either synthetic or natural solid phases of uranium and a subset (6 controls and 6 exposed) were euthanized and fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for histopathological assessment. Located in the northern tropical Pacific Ocean, Majuro is the capital of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Majuro Atoll consists of a large, narrow landmass and a set of smaller perimeter islands surrounding a lagoon that is over 100 square miles in size. The waters surrounding the Majuro Atoll land areas are relatively shallow with poorly mapped bathymetry. However, the Pacific Ocean on the exterior of the coral atoll and the lagoon within its interior consist of deep bathymetry with steep slopes. The U.S. Geological Survey collected topographic data in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to assist in the management of two recreation areas at Blue Mountain Lake and near Nimrod Lake in Arkansas. Data were collected March 3-4, 2020 using terrestrial light detection and ranging (T-lidar) surveying equipment, Global navigation Satellite System (GNSS) surveying equipment, and conventional surveying techniques. This shapefile contains sub-indices comprised of various anthropogenic land use/covers respresentative of the risk of potential habitat degradation to streams within the state of Hawaii. This file is an updated version of 'nfhap_hci_hawaii.shp' and incorporates the suggestion from the Hawaii Fish Habitat Partnership of removing trails and paths from the road network to help better represent amounts of disturbance in remote areas such as the Na Pali coast. Subindices are summarized for local and network catchments specific to perennial stream reaches throughout the state. We report the site number and locations of 5798 streamflow gages displaying zero flow for at least one day in their daily records. 4891 of these gages are from the GRDC network, and 906 are USGS gages in the contiguous US. Additionally, provisional data for two USGS gages 1) Rio Puerco near Bernardo, NM (USGS site: 08353000) and 2) Agua Fria River Near Mayer, AZ (USGS site: 09512500) are provided to illustrate zero flow record behaviors.

Soil frost measurements have been made at Sleepers River Research Watershed starting in 1983. Measurements were made by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory from 1983 to 1993, followed by the U.S. Geological Survey from 1993 to the present. Measurements started at 5 sites and has increased to 10 sites. Sites range in elevation from 225 to 670 meters and are in a mix of field and forest types. Aerial images in the vicinity of USGS gaging station #07094500 Arkansas River at Parkdale, Colorado were collected on March 20-22, 2018, using Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS, or "drones"). Data were processed using structure-from-motion analysis to generate a three-dimensional point cloud that identifies pixels from multiple images representing the same object and calculates the x, y, and z coordinates of that object/pixel. This data set contains example data for exploration of the theory of regression based regionalization. The 90th percentile of annual maximum streamflow is provided as an example response variable for 293 streamgages in the conterminous United States. Several explanatory variables are drawn from the GAGES-II data base in order to demonstrate how multiple linear regression is applied. Example scripts demonstrate how to collect the original streamflow data provided and how to recreate the figures from the associated Techniques and Methods chapter.
This dataset describes the hydrogeomorphic structure and lake-tributary mixing in three intermediate-sized Lake Michigan rivermouths: Ford River, Manitowoc River, and Pere Marquette River. Data were collected from May to October 2011. Water chemistry variables were measured with a multiparameter sonde along longitudinal, lateral, and vertical transects. Magnesium, boron, and stable water isotope concentrations were also determined from grab water samples at particular depths.
Land management practices often directly alter vegetation structure and composition, but the degree to which ecological processes such as herbivory interact with management to influence biodiversity is less well understood. Lake Poinsett is a 260-hectare (640 acres) lake located on Crowley’s Ridge in northeastern Arkansas, approximately 6 km southeast of Harrisburg, Arkansas within Poinsett County.
