PROBLEM The valley‐fill aquifer in the lower Fall Creek valley (designated as aquifer 4, fig. 1), within the Towns of Dryden and Groton, was mapped by Miller (2000) and identified as one of 17 unconsolidated aquifers in Tompkins County that need to be studied in more detail. The east end of the valley (near the Tompkins and Cortland County border) is on the backside of a large morainal plug, which is part of the Valley Heads Moraine. A large system of springs discharge from the backside of the moraine and forms part of the headwaters to Fall Creek. The valley‐fill aquifer thins and pinches out to the west (figs. 1 and 2)— where the valley is floored by bedrock and becomes a “hanging valley” to Cayuga Lake trough....

Here we provide information for the DESIS and PRISMA Derived Spectral Library of Agricultural Crops in California which was developed using DESIS and PRISMA hyperspectral data acquired for 2020. The DESIS images used for this dataset are available through the German Aerospace Center and Teledyne Brown (2022). PRISMA images are available through the Italian Space Agency (ASI) (2022). The crop type data and confidence layer for the year 2020 can be accessed through the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (2022). The DESIS and PRISMA Derived Spectral Library of Agricultural Crops dataset characteristics are described below, with DESIS and PRISMA data provided in two separate CSV files. Low-altitude (80 and 100 meters above ground level) digital images were taken over an area of the Plum Island Estuary and Parker River National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Massachusetts using 3DR Solo uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) on November 14, 2017 and March 28, 2019. These images were collected as part of an effort to document marsh stability over time and quantify sediment movement using UAS technology. Each UAS was equipped with either a Ricoh GR II digital camera for true color photos, which can be used to produce digital elevation models and ortho images, or a MicaSense RedEdge multispectral camera for five-banded imagery (blue, green, red, red edge, and near-infrared spectral bands), which can be used to...

In 1998, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC) Fisheries Independent Monitoring (FIM) program began a long-term monitoring effort of key reef fish populations in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. This effort was aimed at evaluating the relative abundance, size structure, and habitat utilization of specific reef fish species that are targeted by commercial and recreational fisheries.; Smith, S.G., et al. 2011, Multispecies survey design for assessing reef-fish stocks, spatially explicit management performance, and ecosystem condition. ThThe purpose of the Coral Reef Evaluation and Monitoring Project (CREMP) is to monitor the status and trends of selected reefs in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary(FKNMS). CREMP assessments have been conducted annually at fixed sites since 1996 and data collected provides information on the temporal changes in benthic cover and diversity of stony corals and associated marine flora and fauna. The core field methods continue to be underwater videography and timed coral species inventories. Findings presented in this report include data from 109 stations at 37 sites sampled from 1996 through 2008 in the Florida Keys and 1999 through 2008 in the Dry Tortugas. The report describes the annual differences (between...

The South Florida Fish and Invertebrate Assessment Network (FIAN) is a monitoring project within the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). It is an element of the Southern Estuaries module of the Monitoring and Assessment Plan (MAP).The FIAN is designed to support the four broad objectives of MAP: (1) to establish a pre-CERP reference state, including variability, for each of the performance measures; (2) to determine the status and trends in the performance measures; (3) to detect unexpected responses of the ecosystem to changes in stressors resulting from CERP activities; and (4) to support scientific investigations designed to increase ecosystem understanding, cause-and-effect, and interpretation...
Meiofauna higher taxa density (abundance per m2), and Nematode genera counts (100-150 individuals per slice) from multiple corer samples (0-5 cm sediment depth, Ocean Instruments MC800) taken during 2019 Research Vessel Point Sur expedition (#PS20-8) to the West Florida Slope and Escarpment, Eastern Gulf of Mexico. Conducted under the auspices of the NOAA funded (NA180AR0110285) project: Combining habitat suitability and physical oceanography for targeted discovery of new benthic communities on the west Florida slope (Hydrosmac). This dataset contains the original files submitted to the OBIS-USA IPT, the processed files that are published in the OBIS-USA IPT, and the scripts that were used in processing.
The NOAA National Benthic Inventory (NBI) is a dynamic quantitative database on benthic species distributions obtained from studies conducted by NOAA and partnering institutions in estuarine and coastal-ocean areas of the United States.

These data have been collected as part of a cooperative project in between the U.S. Geological Survey, Colorado Springs Utilities, and Colorado Springs City Engineering. This project began in 2005 and has collected macroinvertebrate samples from Fountain Creek and its tributaries to monitor the biological condition of this watershed. Provided in this data release are Multimetric Index (MMI) values of aquatic macroinvertebrate assemblages using four different sampling methods. There are two subsets of these data included: (1) MMI values of macroinvertebrate data collected from 2010 to 2012 at 15 sites as part of an invertebrate sample method comparison Scientific Investigations Report (SIR) titled “Comparability...
The Newdelhi cluster is named for the city of New Delhi, India. Most events in the region are small; a 5.0 mb event is the largest. Most events in the cluster are observed to teleseismic distances. All events have depth control from near-source and local-distance readings, and in two cases, teleseismic depth phases. For many events the number of readings is minimal, which leads to some instability, depending on which readings are considered outliers. Number of events: 48 Calibration type: direct calibration using data to 1.0 degrees; hypocentroid calibration level = 0.8 km Epicentral calibration...

The California Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Program (GAMA) is a statewide assessment of groundwater quality designed to help better understand and identify risks to groundwater resources. GAMA is implemented by the California State Water Resources Control Board. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is the technical lead for the Priority Basin Project (PBP), one of the components of the GAMA Program. Starting in 2012, GAMA began an assessment of water resources in domestic-supply (shallow) aquifers in California. These aquifers provide water for domestic and small community-supply wells, which are often drilled to shallower depths in the groundwater system than public-supply wells. Domestic-supply aquifers...

In 2009, the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho released and implemented the Kootenai River Habitat Restoration Master Plan. This plan aimed to restore, enhance, and maintain the Kootenai River habitat and landscape to support and sustain habitat conditions for aquatic species and animal populations. In support of these restoration efforts, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, conducted high-resolution multibeam echosounder bathymetric surveys, velocity surveys, and collected images of substrate in the Lower Meander Reach (RM 143 - 145.5). This data release contains bathymetry, velocity, and substrate data from surveys performed on the Kootenai River between 2012 and 2019 as part of...

This metadata record describes a series of tabular datasets containing metrics used to characterize drought for select United States Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages for the climate years (April 1 – March 31) 1921 to 2020. These streamgages are a subset of those used in Geospatial Attributes of Gages for Evaluating Streamflow, version 2 (GAGES-II, Falcone, 2011) in the conterminous United States (CONUS). These metrics include streamflow percentiles, identified drought events, annual low streamflow, and drought statistics for each event.
