Actual ET (ETa) is produced using the operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model (Senay and others, 2013) for the period 2000 to present. The SSEBop setup is based on the Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEB) approach (Senay and others, 2007, 2011) with unique parameterization for operational applications. It combines ET fractions generated from remotely sensed MODIS thermal imagery, acquired every 8 days, with reference ET using a thermal index approach. The unique feature of the SSEBop parameterization is that it uses pre-defined, seasonally dynamic, boundary conditions that are unique to each pixel for the hot/dry and cold/wet reference points. This dataset represents the results (9/30/2008) of the Northeastern Aquatic Habitat Classification System (NAHCS) GIS map for streams and rivers. This classification focused on mapping a stream habitat types across 13 northeastern states (ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ, PA, MD, DC, DE, VA, WV). Stream and river centerlines were extracted from the USGS National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NH-Plus) 2006 1:100,000 data. These reaches were attributed and placed into classes representing their biopysical setting in terms of stream size, gradient, and geology, and expected natural water temperature regime. Please see the attribute descriptions for more information on the variable thresholds and the summary taxonomy.

This dataset is a component of a complete package of products from the Connect the Connecticut project. Connect the Connecticut is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conserving the Connecticut River Watershed for future generations, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural ecosystems they inhabit. Click here to download the full data package, including all documentation. This dataset represents the local conductance index, which is a measure of the total potential amount of movement of plants and animals (ecological flow) through a cell from neighboring cells as a function of the ecological similarity between the focal cell and neighboring cells at the scale of one...

This dataset is an extract of the resistance surface created for the Pacific Northwest Duke Climate Resilience Project. It incorporates data on various human activities from the following data sources: National Landcover Dataset, Energy Infrastructure data from the Ventyx Corporation, National Wetlands Inventory, TIGER 2010 Road Data, active railroads and Dave Theobald's housing density dataset developed from 2010 census data. More details on the creation of this surface can be found in the document "Creation of Resistance Surfaces for the Resistant Kernel Pacific Northwest Duke Landscape Resilience Project".

Click here to download the full data package, including all documentation. This dataset represents the local vulnerability of conductance index, which reflects the likelihood of development occurring in places with high local conductance. Specifically, this index is computed as the product of the integrated probability of development between 2010-2080 and the local conductance...

This dataset represents a shaded relief, or hillshade, for the Northern U.S. and Canada. This shaded relief raster was created from a 30 meter Digital Elevation Model (DEM) using the ArcMap geoprocessing tool "hillshade". The DEM consists of two mosaiced datasets: 1. U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) 30 meter National Elevation Dataset (NED) , ~1 arc-second data that is updated over large areas by integrating the 10 meter or better source data(where available), re-sampled to 1 arc-second. 2. The Canadian Digital Elevation Data, Level 1 (CDED1) The Center of Topographic Information (CTI) jointly produces the CDED with federal, provincial, and territorial government agencies as well as the private sector. The CDED...
