We have dated a boulder field in Zepp, VA using cosmogenic Be-10 exposure dating. Three samples taken from boulders at three elevations in the boulder field (804 m asl, 818 m asl, and 831 m asl) were processed at the Reston Cosmogenic Nuclide (RECON) Lab and measured via accelerator mass spectrometry at the Purdue Rare Isotope Measurement (PRIME) Lab. The results of this work are summarized in the file “Zepp_Exposure_Beryllium10_Odom.csv”. This file contains all relevant sample location data, as well as input variables for exposure age calculations. We employed the CRONUS v.3 exposure age calculator (Balco et al., 2008) to estimate exposure ages for these samples and report exposure ages derived using the LSDn time-dependent...
Collection of the unedited GPS track logs recorded during aerial breeding pair surveys using H2 harness. The H2 harness is a data collection device and associated wiring that records voice and position data for use in aerial bird surveys. The H2 replaces the computer program “Record” that was used prior to 2023. The H2 track file has different format than track files from program Record.
Crystalline graphite is a primary material in lithium-ion battery anodes which are essential in moving towards green energy. Forecasts for 2040 anticipate an order of magnitude increase in graphite demand driven by sustainable development policies to reduce carbon emissions. Domestic production of graphite ceased in the 1980s after a steady decline post-World War I, meaning the United States relies on natural graphite imports from producers such as China or high-cost synthetic graphite. The current crystalline graphite flake model was released in 1992 and used 100 sites with graphite production. The updated grade and tonnage model uses 72 graphite sites with reports of flake graphite. The updated model implies economically...
The Central Valley, and particularly the San Joaquin Valley, has a long history of land subsidence caused by groundwater development. The extensive withdrawal of groundwater from the unconsolidated deposits of the San Joaquin Valley lowered groundwater levels and caused widespread land subsidence—reaching 9 meters by 1981. More than half of the thickness of the aquifer system is composed of fine-grained sediments, including clays, silts, and sandy or silty clays that are susceptible to compaction. In an effort to aid water managers in understanding how water moves through the aquifer system, predicting water-supply scenarios, and addressing issues related to water competition, the United States Geological Survey...
The dataset consists of two csv files one for home range and net displacement analysis for adult snakes with at least 20 locations collected during the study period and one for the analysis of movement metrics for all adult snakes in the study. The home range data contains the calculated 100 percent and 95 percent minimum convex polygons (MCP) and 95 percent adaptive local convex hull (a-LoCoH) home range estimates, 3 measures of net displacement from the release location of the snake as well as other pertinent information about individual snakes (year included in study, id, treatment group, site, snout to vent length (SVL)). The movement data contains calculations of the following movement metrics: sinuosity, start-to-end...
This is a collection of files containing information about sites in Texas where critical mineral resources may be found, as described in the NGGDPP in 2019 and later.
This multi-layer GeoPackage (“VCF_AnalysisStrata”) contains density layers that stratify spectacled eiders into low, medium, and high density classes on the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Coastal Zone over two time periods: 1985-1994 and 1995-2015. The (“SPEI_1985to1994_6strata”) and (“SPEI_1995to2015_6strata”) layers were created using ground-based nest data that was log-transformed, interpotated by ordinary kriging methods, and classified into low (0-1.60 km^2), medium (1.60-3.50 km^2), and high (>3.50 km^2) nest density classes. Different visibility correction factors (VCFs) were calculated for each density strata based on the relationship between the nest and aerial survey data. These correction factors are used to produce...

This GeoPackage contains the analysis strata ("YKG_AnalysisStrata") used in calculating population indices for geese, swans, and cranes. This layer was created from the file ("YKD_DesignStrata") when the existing rotating panel design was developed in 1999. This layer was originally created as an ArcInfo coverage, saved to a shapefile, and imported to SQLite Database format.

This dataset consists of one table with annual population counts (censuses) for Black-legged Kittiwakes and Common Murres at two seabird nesting colonies on Gull and Chisik Islands in lower Cook Inlet, Alaska.
The sensor ensemble (DEbris and Floodflow Early warNing System, DEFENS) was deployed in Waldo Canyon, Pike National Forest, Colorado, which was burned during the Waldo Canyon fire in the summer of 2012. The ensemble consists of noncontact, ground-based (near-field), Doppler velocity (velocity) and pulsed (stage or gage height) radars, rain gages, and a redundant radio communication network. This ensemble of instruments was used to calculate stream channel characteristics derived from light detection and ranging (lidar) data. These data were leveraged to predict mean channel velocities based on Manning's equation, which were needed to compute the kinematic celerity and uncertainties and include water level, cross-sectional...
Hydroacoustic estimates of fish density are used for fisheries management in central Lake Erie. Hydroacoustic data were collected along 10, randomly-selected, 5-kilometer transects and two cross-basin transects between the US and Canadian shorelines in central Lake Erie during July 2021. Software-generated raw variables were used for calculating estimates of hydroacoustic fish densities presented here in tabular form. These data are related to a longer-term data set from 2010-2019, and a data set from 2020.

The Terrestrial Core-connector Network is one of a suite of products from the Nature’s Network project (naturesnetwork.org). Nature’s Network is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conservation in the Northeast, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural areas they inhabit. This product consists of two components: core areas and connectors. A number of additional datasets that augment or complement the core-connector network, including Road-bounded Natural Blocks that surround the cores areas and a set of Grassland Bird Core Areas, are also available in the Nature’s Network gallery: https://nalcc.databasin.org/galleries/8f4dfe780c444634a45ee4acc930a055. A detailed technical...
Aerial track files (1997 to 2022) collected using the FWS software program “RECORD” (John I. Hodges, MBM-Alaska) running on laptop computers. Program RECORD was activated during the survey before arriving at the first transect and shut down after the last transect was completed, prior to engine shut-down. “Raw” track files recorded the flightpath of the aircraft including the area surveyed on each transect. GPS coordinates were captured every five seconds using a recreational grade receiver with an estimated positional accuracy of 5-10 meters after the software program was activated. These raw track files have not been quality checked, so they may contain missing or erroneous coordinates if the GPS signal was intermittent...
Combined population indices for the USFWS Region Migratory Bird Management Arctic Coastal Plain study area. The survey consists of low-level aerial observations of waterfowl on a stratified strip transect design. The resulting data frame is several indices combined over observers (or single observer in years where estimates were not combined) and calculated using a standard ratio estimator. These data are output from the R package AKaerial and are also available within that package, see https://github.com/USFWS/AKaerial. The data used to produce these estimates contain known errors. Many but not all of these errors are corrected within the R package AKaerial. These data are presented for historical purposes only....

This is a folder and zip folder for distribution if the ACP data. Limited metadata exists at this time, thus the readme.txt file contains much of the information. The contents also include 10-02 area data that was collected in 2019. Ths is identified in the 'code' column of the ACP_QCObs_YYYY... files. The contents include: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: OBSERVATION FILES (Data/ACP_QCObs_YYYY_Name.csv) - 2010 resulted in 3 different observers, 2018 had 1 observer, and all other years had 2 observers. - Latitude and longitude fields are of unknown accuracy and might be 500m from the reported locations due to: (1) GPS satellite accuracy, (2) distance from observed bird to center strip of transect (observer) could be up to...

Introduction Relatively little data describing the quality of groundwater in New York State exists, yet groundwater is used as a source of drinking water by approximately one quarter of the population of the state. The objective of the Ambient Groundwater Quality Monitoring project is to quantify and report on ambient groundwater quality from bedrock and glacial-drift aquifers in upstate New York, and is an ongoing cooperative project between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). The project began in 2002 with a pilot study in the Mohawk River Basin and another in 2003 in the Chemung River Basin. Sampling completed in 2018 represented the conclusion...

The Uwajima cluster is named for the city of Uwajima on the southwest coast of the island of Shikoku, Japan. The seismicity is mainly beneath the Bungo Channel separating Shikoku and Kyushu. The cluster was motivated by a 6.3 Mw earthquake on April 17, 2024, and contains two other magnitude 6.3 events, on August 5, 1968 and January 21, 2022. The seismicity is at depths of 25-70 km, associated with the subduction zone. All events are observed to teleseismic distances. Station coverage is superb and all events have depth constraint from near-source readings. Most events also have depth estimates from teleseismic depth phases that are in close agreement. ...
This is an SQLite GeoPackage simple feature multipolygon vector database of the Arctic Coastal Plain survey area transect density strata. There is only one layer that gives the strata boundaries in EPSG:4326. The field “Statra” gives the strata name and the “geom” field gives the simple feature Well Known Text geometry data. See the GitHub site for more information. This product was produced from the file ACPmapping.R and is simplified from the original strata files distributed at https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/65419a58d34ee4b6e05bd001.
