1:25,000 Scale. 7.5 x 15-minute maps in limited areas of the conterminous United States at 1:25,000 scale.
Categories: Map
Digital images that did not meet the minimum qualifying resolution for the standard collection. Spatial extents may vary depending on the source material.

This raster depicts the percentage of lithological sulfur (S) content in surface or near surface geology. We derived these rasters by calculating the average percent S content for each map unit in combined surficial-bedrock geologic maps. We used state geologic maps (Preliminary Integrated Geologic Map Databases for the United States, Open File Reports 2004-1355, 2005-1305, 2005-1323, 2005-1324, 2005-1325, 2005-1351, and 2006-1272), which depict surficial geology instead of bedrock when the surficial layers are sufficiently deep. For the state maps that do not incorporate surficial geology (i.e., midwestern states), we overlaid surficial geologic map units with thicknesses greater than 100 feet (from Soller et al....

This raster depicts the percentage of lithological nitrogen (N) content in surface or near surface geology. We derived these rasters by calculating the average percent N content for each map unit in combined surficial-bedrock geologic maps. This map provides an estimate of current and near-term aquatic intactness, which is based on the results of a fuzzy logic model integrating land use, water quality, hydrologic impacts, and road impacts. It also shows long-term potential for climate change.

These files contain scans of Topographic Reconnaissance maps of Antarctica. The source maps were published at 1:250,000-scale by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the National Science Foundation. The extent of their coverage can be seen in the “Topographic Reconnaissance Index - 250k” layer of the Atlas of Antarctic Research viewer. Use the “VIEW” link below to look at a low resolution version of the map. Then download the selected map at full resolution by clicking the download link. The metadata for each of the maps is contained in the “Full Map”download file. The maps were scanned at a ground resolution of 25.4 meters and range from 10 to 30 megabytes. They are provided in two formats: Full Map ...
