This data set presents the results of conducting Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry on core samples of the mudstone underlying the Naval Air Warfare Center, West Trenton, New Jersey. The core samples were selected from the continuous core collected from boreholes 83BR-89BR.

Water surface elevations within seven Willamette River off-channel features (OCF; alcoves and side channels) were measured using submerged pressure transducers. Transducers were installed from late May through mid-October, 2016, when discharge of the Willamette River was between approximately 5,500 and 45,000 cubic feet per second at Salem, Oregon (USGS gage 14191000) and 3,500 to 17,500 cubic feet per second at Harrisburg, Oregon (USGS gage 14166000). Pressure transducer sensor depth was measured at all seven sites. These data sets present results from the analyses of groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells and monitoring intervals in bedrock wells in the mudstone aquifer underlying the former Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC), West Trenton, NJ. The water samples were collected between 2008 and 2013 and were analyzed for field parameters, inorganic and organic constituents, and the abundances of selected microbes of importance to the evaluation of biological degradation of organic contaminants in groundwater. The collection and analyses of the groundwater samples coincides with conducting a bioaugmentation experiment in a targeted region of the mudstone aquifer. Raw data were collected in Shenandoah National Park during summer 2012. Air and temperature data were collected using temperature loggers at several stations throughout the park. These data were used in the publication of the manuscript "Accounting for groundwater influence on headwater stream thermal sensitivity to climate change" through the journal Ecological Applications. Water temperature data were collected at all 78 reach locations during the summer of 2012 (23 June–7 September). Temperature was measured every hour with a logger.

These data were collected using a 1200 kHz TRDI Rio Grande acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) in mode 12 with 25 centimeter bins from a moving boat. The data were georeferenced with a Hemisphere Crescent A100 differential Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver with submeter accuracy. The data have been depth-averaged over the entire measured portion of the water column and temporally averaged over 5-second intervals to reduce noise. ADCP data were collected on November 4, 2015 at the confluence of the Illinois River and Fox River near Ottawa, IL using a Teledyne Rio Grande 1200 kHz Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler with integrated Trimble Ag162 GPS. ADCP data was collected in reciprocal pairs along cross-sections. The data are provided in: (1) a zipped folder containing classic ascii output files exported from WinRiverII software, and a README text file indicating which files are reciprocal pairs (2) a zipped folder containing KML files for each transect.

This data set consists of polylines representing groundwater-level altitude contours, 1982, for middle Humboldt River basin, north-central Nevada as published on plate 2, figure 3 in the U.S. Geological Survey Water-Resources Investigations Report 98-4209 titled "Hydrogeologic framework and ground-water levels, 1982 and 1996, middle Humboldt River basin, north-central Nevada," 1999. A subset of the contours were published as part of a larger data set representing water-table contours for Nevada (Buto and others, 2006). Mercury (Hg) is a persistent environmental contaminant and can accumulate and concentrate in food webs as methylmercury (MeHg), presenting a health risk to humans and wildlife. Multiyear monitoring and modeling studies have shown that atmospheric Hg in litterfall is an important form of Hg deposition to forests. Litterfall consists primarily of leaves with some amounts of twigs, bark, flowers, seeds, fruits, and nuts. Atmospheric Hg accumulates in the forest canopy material and transfers to the forest floor in litterfall. This dataset describes the storm event mean concentrations and loads of total and dissolved forms of phosphorus and nitrogen from paired samples collected in the control and test catchment during the calibration and treatment phase of a leaf removal study in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Samples were collected in spring 2013 through fall 2015 and are parsed by season where spring represents April – May, summer represents June – September and fall represents October – November. Measured weather parameters for each sampled storm event are also described. These data are interpreted in a journal article published in Science of the Total Environment.
