A previously published MODFLOW-NWT groundwater-flow model for the Rush Springs aquifer in western Oklahoma (using 1 steady state stress period followed by 444 monthly stress periods representing 1979-2015; Ellis, 2018a) was used as the basis of several groundwater-use scenarios. The model is a 3-layer model including the Cloud Chief formation (confining unit of the Rush Springs aquifer), alluvial and terrace deposits, and the Rush Springs aquifer. The scenarios were used to assess the effects of increasing groundwater withdrawals from the Rush Springs aquifer on base flows to streams that flow into Fort Cobb Reservoir to address concerns over groundwater use reducing inflows to the lake. Lake-bottom sediment and associated quality-control samples were collected in August 2020 from one coring location (U.S. Geological Survey station 413756070321301, ASHUMET POND, MASHPEE MI-ASHPD-0011) in Ashumet Pond downgradient from a former fire-training area on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The core was collected to determine if per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were present in the bottom sediments of a lake known to have elevated concentrations of PFAS in surface water and groundwater (Tokranov and others, 2021), and whether the sediments could act as a continuous source of PFAS to the lake. Two dissolved-oxygen experiments were completed using internally logging water-quality monitors. Dissolved-oxygen sensors on the water-quality monitors were calibrated using various settings and at various elevations in Oregon, USA. Data from these experiments can be used 1) to assess how elevation affects dissolved-oxygen values recorded by continuous water-quality monitors, and 2) to inform best practices for calibrating and recording dissolved oxygen at various elevations. This data release contains frequency domain electromagnetic (FDEM) data collected during discrete times between July 2019 to October 2022 near Lake Placid, NY as part of a multi-method effort to monitor the effects of different road salt treatments on groundwater and the surrounding surface water (West Branch Ausable River). Water-quality data and plankton samples were collected at multiple locations within the Fernhill Natural Treatment wetland and along the Tualatin River, located to the west of Portland, Oregon, during the summers of 2018, 2019 and 2020. Water quality parameters collected include water temperature, specific conductance, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, chlorophyll, and blue green algae. Data were collected to better understand how water discharged from the upstream natural treatment wetland (Fernhill Wetlands) affect algal species and water quality in the Tualatin River.
