Biogeographic Information System This is an experimental collection that implements an information model for biogeographic information. We are building this on the conceptual foundation from the Global Change Information System. We are using the Biogeographic Information System, accessed via the ScienceBase API, as a basis to drive an experimental new map interface (National Biogeographic Map) and a developing iterative report concept (National Biodiversity Assessment). The PAD-US is an ongoing project with several published versions of a spatial database including areas dedicated to the preservation of biological diversity, and other natural (including extraction), recreational, or cultural uses, managed for these purposes...
