Website: “Climate Change Refugia” website features a dynamic, interactive refugia map and all deliverables
![]() Aeromagnetic data were collected along flight lines by instruments in an aircraft that recorded magnetic-field values and locations. This dataset presents latitude, longitude, altitude, and magnetic-field values.
This Open-File report is a digital geologic map database. This digital map database is compiled from previously published sources combined with some new mapping and modifications in nomenclature. The geologic map database delineates map units that are identified by general age and lithology following the stratigraphic nomenclature of the U. S. Geological Survey. For detailed descriptions of the units, their stratigraphic relations and sources of geologic mapping consult Yerkes and Campbell (1993).

This dataset is a polygon coverage of the thickness of the overburden of the Pocahontas No. 3 coal bed, in feet. It was produced by importing 1:100,000 (30-minute) and 1:24,000 scale (7.5-minute) digital elevation models (DEM) into ARC, and merging the lattices into one. The structure elevation grid for the Pocahontas No. 3 coal bed was subtracted from the surface elevation grid, creating overburden thickness. This grid was contoured within the known extent of the Pocahontas No. 3 coal bed into 200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 foot lines. This vector file was imported to ARC. Polygon attributes include a code for the USGS overburden category (Coal Resource Classification of the U.S. Geological Survey, USGS, Circular...

GIS data in Data Basin showing relationship between major soil types and recent pinyon pine dieback in the southwest.
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service awarded funding to eight projects for the Southern Rockies LCC. Attached is a PDF list of the projects.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife has created a gallery in Data Basin with 140 GIS layers showing species ranges, nesting areas, foraging areas, concentration areas etc. for species including bald eagle, albert's squirrel, gunnison sage-grouse, mule deer, and many others. Also available for public download from this link in ArcGIS.com.
This USGS Energy Resources Program website contains news, research and links related to energy in the Colorado Plateau region.

The Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) is a geodatabase that illustrates and describes public land ownership, management and conservation lands nationally, including voluntarily provided privately protected areas. The lands included in PAD-US are assigned conservation measures that qualify their intent to manage lands for the preservation of biological diversity and to other natural, recreational and cultural uses; managed for these purposes through legal or other effective means. The geodatabase includes: 1) Geographic boundaries of public land ownership and voluntarily provided private conservation lands (e.g., Nature Conservancy Preserves); 2) The combination land owner, land manager, management...

![]() The Eagle River drains approximately 970 square miles (sq mi) west of the Continental Divide in central Colorado before flowing into the Colorado River. The Eagle River watershed (ERW) is located primarily within Eagle County and includes the towns of Vail, Minturn, Avon, Edwards, Eagle, and Gypsum. The eastern boundary of the ERW is drained by Gore Creek, located at Vail Pass. Gore Creek flows along I-70 through the town of Vail before its confluence with the main stem Eagle River near the town of Minturn. The Eagle River continues to flow along I-70 to its western boundary near Dotsero. Increased tourism and development in Eagle County is in part due to the high mountain environment and accessible location within...
This dataset is a collection of coal field locations in The Peoples Republic of China. Included in this dataset is the rank of the coal in each field.

This is a coverage of the Colorado Plateau coal assessment study area. The study area outline was drawn on the county lines that most closely outline the coal-bearing rocks in the Colorado Plateau Region. The county outlines originate from a national coverage for which lines were extracted from U.S. Census 1990 TIGER/line files using an AML program written by Nebert, D., and Negri, M., USGS-Water Resources Division (WRD), running on two Data General 6220 servers.

This is an Arc/Info coverage showing the general elevation of the top of the Herrin (No. 6) coal in Illinois. These 100-foot isolines were contoured by Earthvision software using more than 22,000 data points. The data was not contoured using fault lines for control and no manual adjustments were made to the contours to reflect the presence of known faults. Limited data were available in the north central and central portions of the state. This data set is intended for use at a scale of 1:750,000.

Outlines of areas mined for the Springfield coal in Illinois as of January 1, 1996. This information was extracted from detailed coal mine data stored in the ISGS Coal Section library database. Lines delineate the approximate outer boundary of individual mines (if known) or general mined areas. Interior mine boundaries such as pillars or small blocks of unmined coal are commonly not depicted. Outlines have been compiled from a variety of sources. Outlines of areas mined before 1987 are commonly from source maps at scales of 1:62,500 or smaller. Outlines of areas mined since 1987 are commonly digitized at scales ranging from 1:4800 to 1:12,000. Mines whose extent is not known or which only mined a few acres are not...
