Glacier National Park, Montana. Altyn Limestone in the lower slopes of Appekunny Mountain, northeast of Many Glacier Hotel. This view is at the type locality of the formation, close to the site of the former settlement of Altyn. The Lewis overthrust is at the base of the cliffs, and the smooth slopes below are underlain by shale of Cretaceous age, which yields few outcrops. July 6,1901.
