This collection contains maps and notes with information on state boundaries with New York and Delaware as well as some municipal and county boundaries.
This collection contains a comprehensive inventory of geologic (coral, rock, and sediment) cores and samples collected, analyzed, published, and/or archived by, or in collaboration with, the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS SPCMSC). The SPCMSC Core and Sediment Sample Database includes geologic cores and samples collected beginning in the 1970s to present day, from study sites across the world. This database can be accessed through the CoreViewer 3.0 ArcOnline web mapping application, linked below. A copy of the data can also be downloaded from the web mapping application and the metadata is accessible through a link in the header of the application. The database captures...
Digital map of iron sulfate minerals, other mineral groups, and vegetation of the western United States derived from automated analysis of Landsat 8 satellite data
Multispectral remote sensing data acquired by Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) sensor were analyzed using an automated technique to generate surficial mineralogy and vegetation maps of the conterminous western United States. Six spectral indices (e.g. band-ratios), highlighting distinct spectral absorptions, were developed to aid in the identification of mineral groups in exposed rocks, soils, mine waste rock, and mill tailings across the landscape. The data are centered on the western U.S. and cover portions of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, the Canada-U.S. border, and the Mexico-U.S. border during the summers of 2013 – 2014. Methods used to process the images and algorithms used to infer mineralogical composition...
(Deprecated) Geoscience publications with digital data harvested from the Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys
The Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys provides FGDC metadata records for many different geoscience collections, databases, and individual artifacts. Those are harvested for access through ScienceBase along with records from sample data preservation activities. This collection is in the process of being replaced by a new collection of all geoscience publications. https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/61522455d34e0df5fb9bd804
The Geologic Materials Repository is an active collection of research specimens gathered by the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology (MBMG). Curated specimens include hand samples, thin sections, powder residues, or heavy mineral separates. The geologic materials are organized in containers and stored on shelves in a designated building located on the Montana Technological University campus. MBMG maintains a public facing database of the collection?s inventory that includes attributes describing the field location, geologic context, materials curated, storage information, and record of analytical work. The collection is available to the public.
A full catalog of geoscience publications released by the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys. This includes all Alaska-related scientific reports, maps, and geospatial datasets. It excludes administrative reports, posters and presentations, newsletters, GMC data reports, brochures and pamphlets for the general public and publications that have been superseded.
