These data consist of species relative cover, percent cover of dead plant material, percent cover of soil and rock, and a variety of broad - and local- scale environmental variables. These data relate to sample sites along the Colorado River through Grand Canyon between Lees Ferry and river mile 245. The plant and ground cover data included here were originally collected as a part of annual vegetation monitoring by Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center. Environmental variables were either recorded in the field or obtained through other data sources. Species and ground cover data were collected in August and September 2014 at 96 randomly selected sample sites that were approximately evenly distributed along...

This dataset describes irrigation water use in Kansas in 2015. Volumes of water used, irrigated area, and average irrigation application depths are provided for three sets of subareas: (1) Irrigation water use analysis regions that include Groundwater Management Districts (GMDs) with the areas outside of GMDs divided into eastern, central, and western Kansas; (2) Regional Planning Areas (RPAs), which are 14 areas determined by the Kansas Water Office based on hydrologic and administrative boundaries, each with a set of goals outlined in the Kansas Water Vision (https://kwo.ks.gov/water-plan/water-vision); and (3) the 105 Kansas counties. Volumes of water used, irrigated area, and average application depths are also...
Low-altitude (70 m above ground level) aerial images were collected over five areas of interest within the northern portion of Assateague Island National Seashore (ASIS) in mid-October, 2022. These images were collected to generate photogrammetric products (e.g. digital surface model (DSM), reflectance orthomosaic) to support science and data needs of National Park managers attempting to locate invasive Phragmites australis expansion. A DJI Matrice 600 uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) was equipped with a MicaSense Altum-PT multispectral camera and a Ricoh GRII true-color RGB camera to collect images simultaneously with sufficient overlap for photogrammetric processing. Ground control points (GCPs), black and white...
This composite shaded relief image dataset depicts generalized bathymetry and topography of the Caribbean region.
The Caribbean region is part of World Energy Assessment region 6 (Central and South America). A fundamental task in the assessment is to map the locations and type of production for existing oil and gas fields. The Petroconsultants database is the only available database that has coverage for the Caribbean region. Oil and gas field symbols represent field center-points and are published with permission from Petroconsultants International Data Corporation, 2002 database.

These data were collected to estimate detection probability of Bombus affinis at known occupied sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Iowa in 2021. Data were also used to determine the effect of weather, observer experience, and habitat quality on Bombus affinis detection probability.
In 2015, approximately 10 million acres of Federal lands across six western states were proposed for withdrawal from mineral entry by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in order to conserve habitat critical for the greater sage-grouse. As a result, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) launched the Sagebrush Mineral-Resource Assessment (SaMiRA) project in late-2015 to provide BLM with an assessment of the locatable minerals and an evaluation of the leaseable and saleable minerals within the proposed withdrawal areas. BLM provided Legacy Rehost 2000 System (LR2000) spatial data to the USGS on March 6, 2016 to help identify areas containing mineral leases and claims. The LR2000 system reports BLM land and mineral-use...
Nitrogen, phosphorus, and suspended-sediment loads, and changes in loads, in major rivers across the Chesapeake Bay watershed have been calculated using monitoring data from the Chesapeake Bay River Input Monitoring (RIM) Network stations for the period 1985 through 2022. Nutrient and suspended-sediment loads and changes in loads were determined by applying a weighted regression approach called WRTDS (Weighted Regression on Time, Discharge, and Season). The load results represent the total mass of nitrogen, phosphorus, and suspended sediment that was exported from each of the RIM watersheds.

A bathymetric survey of DeQueen Lake, Sevier County, Arkansas was conducted in July, 2015, by the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) using methodologies for multi-beam sonar surveys similar to those described by Lee, K.G. (2013) and Huizinga (2016). Data from the bathymetric survey were merged with data from an aerial LiDAR survey conducted in March, 2008 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District and from the combined XYZ dataset, a digital terrain model (DTM) of the lakebed below flood pool elevation 474 feet above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) was created. Products derived from the DTM include a digital elevation model (DEM) in...
These data are a subset of categories and items from county-level data for the conterminous United States covering the census reporting years beginning with the 1950 Census of Agriculture and ending with the 2012 Census of Agriculture. Historical (1950-1997) data were extracted from digital files obtained through the Intra-university Consortium on Political and Social Research (ICPSR). More current (1997-2012) data were extracted from the National Agriculture Statistical Service(NASS) Census Query Tool for the census years of 1997, 2002, 2007, and 2012. Please refer to the Supplemental Information element of the metadata for information on the Census of Agriculture, the Inter-university Consortium for Political...

Earthquake-triggered ground-failure, such as landsliding and liquefaction, can contribute significantly to losses, but our current ability to accurately include them in earthquake hazard analyses is limited. The development of robust and transportable models requires access to numerous inventories of ground failure triggered by earthquakes that span a broad range of terrains, shaking characteristics, and climates. We present an openly accessible, centralized earthquake-triggered ground-failure inventory repository in the form of a ScienceBase Community to provide open access to these data, and help accelerate progress. The Community hosts digital inventories created by both USGS and non-USGS authors. We present...

![]() This part of DS 781 presents 2-m-resolution data for the acoustic-backscatter map of the Offshore of Point Conception Map Area, California. The GeoTiff is included in "Backscatter_OffshorePointConception.zip," which is accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/F7QN64XQ. This acoustic-backscatter map of the Offshore of Point Conception map area in southern California was generated from acoustic-backscatter data collected by Fugro Pelagos Inc. Acoustic mapping was completed in 2008 using a combination of 400-kHz Reson 7125, 240-kHz Reson 8101, and 100-kHz Reson 8111 multibeam echosounders. These acoustic-backscatter data cover the area from about the 10-m isobath to beyond the limit of California’s State Waters.
Human-associated indicator bacteria and human specific viruses in the Menomonee River watershed in Milwaukee, WI were investigated from April 2009 to March 2011 at six sampling locations within the watershed using genetic markers to assess the amount of waterborne pathogen contamination. We used concentration and water volume data from runoff-event and low-flow periods to compute human virus and indicator bacteria loads for each sample collected. Loads were then used, along with drainage area from each defined sub-watershed, to compute yield contributions of human-associated bacteria and human specific viruses for each of the six sub-watersheds studied in the Menomonee River watershed.

These products were developed to provide scientific and correspondingly spatially explicit information regarding the distribution and abundance of conifers (namely, singleleaf pinyon (Pinus monophylla), Utah juniper (Juniperus osteosperma), and western juniper (Juniperus occidentalis)) in Nevada and portions of northeastern California. Encroachment of these trees into sagebrush ecosystems of the Great Basin can present a threat to populations of greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus). These data provide land managers and other interested parties with a high-resolution representation of conifers across the range of sage-grouse habitat in Nevada and northeastern California that can be used for a variety of...

This raster dataset depicts percent canopy cover derived from 1-m conifer classifications when aggregated to 30-m cells. Conifer features were classified from 2010, 2012, and 2013 NAIP Digital Ortho Quarter Quads (DOQQ) using the Feature Analyst 5.0 extension for ArcGIS 10.1. Tiles were organized and grouped by Nevada Department of Wildlife Bi-State Population Management Unit (PMU) locations, plus a 10 km area beyond the PMU extent. Analysts visually identified conifers in the imagery using false color infrared settings and digitized multiple trees per tile as training locations for classification. After performing hierarchical learning and clutter removal with Feature Analyst to remove non-conifer features on...

In this study, we combined two actual evapotranspiration datasets (ET), one obtained from a root zone water balance model and another from an energy balance model, to partition annual ET into green (rainfall-based) and blue (surface/groundwater) water sources. Time series maps of green water ET (GWET) and blue water ET (BWET) are produced for the conterminous United States (CONUS) over 2001–2015.
This dataset includes a modified subset of polygon features that describe U.S. Geological Survey's defined geologic provinces of the World. Each province has a set of geologic characteristics that distinguish it from surrounding provinces. These characteristics may include dominant lithologies, the age of the strata, and/or structural type. Each province is assigned a unique numeric code and may fall within two or more countries or assessment regions.

The bathymetric data set was collected in Rock Run on Dec. 10, 2015 by USGS ILWSC staff Clayton Bosch and Louis Pappas. The bathymetric data were collected with an RD Instruments 1200 kHz ADCP (S/N 8617) and Trimble Ag 162 GPS mounted on the M/V La Moine. A temporary reference point (TRP) was established on the north side of the footbridge over the connecting channel to the Des Plaines River. The mean water surface elevation (504.97 feet, WGS 84) during the survey was established from a temporary reference point whose elevation was later established by GPS survey. The measured depths were then converted to a lake bed elevation. The location and depth data were compiled into a bathymetry dataset (Rock Run Bathymetry...
A bathymetric survey of Norfork Lake, Arkansas-Missouri, was conducted in September-October, 2015, by the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) using methodologies for multi-beam sonar surveys similar to those described by Lee (2013) and Huizinga (2016). Data from the bathymetric survey were merged with data collected during a March 2008 aerial LiDAR survey provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District. Using Esri ArcGIS version 10.3.1, a feature dataset of the XYZ points from the merged LiDAR and bathymetry data was created within a file geodatabase and an associated terrain (digital terrain model, or DTM) created from the XYZ feature dataset. Products...
