The data includes dates, places, and times of sampling events for eggs of invasive Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) in tributaries to the Great Lakes in 2021 and 2022. Reference data on locations and dates sampled, gears used, and effort are included. Developmental stages for a subset of undamaged, fertilized eggs are provided. Tables include common fields to allow for integration into a relational database to aid data extraction and associating data among tables. The data includes dates, places, and times of sampling events for eggs and larvae of invasive Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) in tributaries to Lake Erie between 2015 and 2020. Reference data on locations and dates sampled, gears used, and effort are included. Developmental stages for a subset of undamaged, fertilized eggs are provided. Tables include common fields to allow for integration into a relational database to aid data extraction and associating data among tables.

Great Lakes coastal marshes have the potential to filter water coming off of the landscape and remove sediments and nutrients before they reach the lakes. However, this ability has largely been neutralized as vast areas of coastal wetlands have been isolated behind dikes; while at the same time the Great Lakes continue to suffer from excess phosphorus loading. In this study we used high-frequency measurements of discharge and turbidity to estimate sediment and phosphorus retention in a formerly diked coastal wetland. We found sediment and phosphorus retention to be episodic and highly related to fluctuations in water level. Low water levels in Lake Erie in late 2012 resulted in low retention in the wetland, but...

Data include total nitrogen and carbon, carbon species, total metal, and particle-size analyses of soft streambed from the Black Creek basin, Allen County, Indiana that was collected in July 2019. These data will be used in a sediment-source mixing model in order to attribute the proportional contribution of individual sources to suspended sediment in the basin. Source samples were identified as one of five land-cover types: cropland (corn, soybean, hay, and wheat; sites included a mix of conventional and conservation tillage), active horse pasture, roads, preserved forest, and streambanks along agricultural and non-agricultural channels. Source data were collected in August 2017 (Williamson and others, 2020). Williamson,...
The goal of the Atlantic Subsurface Stratigraphic Initiative (ASSI) is to create isopach and structural contour maps for all Coastal Plain formations within the Salisbury Embayment of Maryland and Virginia. Detailed information regarding thicknesses and extent of formations across state boundaries can then be utilized for more accurate documentation of the subaerial extent of aquifers across states. In support of this goal, lower Paleogene sediment elevation and thickness information from approximately 600+ data points from wells, cores, outcrops, and geologic maps were obtained from published and unpublished resources. Analyses started with production of a structure contour map of the unconformable contact of the...

These data describe daily mean air temperature, soil temperature, soil-water (moisture) content, and solar radiation at two edge-of-field sites monitored as part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. These data were used to catalog the general range of conditions at each site in order to provide context for when sub-surface agricultural drainage (tile drains) is visible in remote-sensing imagery available from DigitalGlobe and Google Earth.
