Tsunamis have the potential to cause considerable damage to communities along the U.S. Pacific Northwest coastline. As coastal communities expand over time, the potential societal impact of tsunami inundation changes. To understand how community exposure to tsunami hazards may change in coming decades, we projected future development (i.e. urban, residential, and rural), households, and residents over a 50-year period (2011-2061) along the Washington, Oregon, and northern California coasts. As part of a larger study examining stream conditions and the effect of Best Management Practices in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, thirty small streams on the Delmarva Peninsula were instrumented and monitored for gage height (water level), water temperature, and air temperature using Onset HOBO sensors from March to September 2022. In addition, two discrete discharge measurements were made at baseflow at each site. This data release contains four .csv files with time-series for gage height, water temperature, and air temperature for all thirty monitoring locations and a table of discrete discharge measurements and associated field measurement metadata: Delmarva_2022_Continuous_Air_Temperature.csv Delmarva_2022_Continuous_Gage_Height.csv...

Soil gas methane and combustible gas concentrations collected from oil and gas well pad locations in Utah. Soil gas samples were measured on site and/or collected for later analysis as described in supporting documentation. Multiple sample locations around well head and depths within the soil profile are available for select sites. Supporting documents provide information of sample collection protocol and data quality assurance.

Eggshell thickness was measured at the egg equator and poles (sharp pole and blunt pole) for 12 avian species. Eggshell thickness was related to egg morphometrics (egg length and width), embryonic development, egg status, and mercury contamination. Individual eggshells each have up to 3 thickness measurements, linked by the eggshell identification. Each measurement has the corresponding egg length, egg width, egg status, mercury concentration, and nest identification. Predation and habitat degradation by non-native species are principal terrestrial threats to the federally endangered Hawaiian Petrel (ʻuaʻu, Pterodroma sandwichensis) and Hawaiian Goose (nēnē, Branta sandvicensis) within Haleakalā National Park (HALE), Maui, Hawaiʻi. Since 1981, HALE has maintained a network of live-traps to control invasive mammalian predators and protect these endangered birds. From 31 May to 29 June, 2022, a Virginia Tech team of 4-5 sampled the fish community in 30 Delmarva Peninsula streams (Maryland and Delaware, USA) as part of a larger stream-health study including other teams who surveyed geomorphology, water quality, flow, temperature, macroinvertebrates, and fish health at the same 30 streams. These 30 Chesapeake Bay Watershed tributaries had upstream drainage areas of 9 to 54 sq. km. At each stream, we sampled fish from two reaches using two-pass backpack electrofishing and seining. From 16 June to 30 July, 2021, a Virginia Tech team of 4-6 sampled the fish community in 30 Shenandoah Valley streams (Virginia and West Virginia, USA) as part of a larger stream-health study including other teams who surveyed geomorphology, water quality, flow, temperature, macroinvertebrates, and fish health at the same 30 streams. The fish community team also sampled three additional bonus streams (SiteID's FOLL, NAKE, and TUMB) during 19-22 August, 2021. Lifespan of salt marshes in New York are calculated using conceptual marsh units defined by Defne and Ganju (2018) and Welk and others (2019, 2020a, 2020b, 2020c). The lifespan calculation is based on estimated sediment supply and sea-level rise (SLR) predictions after Ganju and others (2020). Sea level predictions are local estimates which correspond to the 0.3, 0.5, and 1.0 meter increase in Global Mean Sea Level (GMSL) scenarios by 2100 from Sweet and others (2022). Total mercury concentrations were determined in hair and whole blood of raccoons and skunks in Suisun Marsh from 2016 to 2019. Individual skunks and raccoons were identified by a unique identifier (Animal_ID) and some animals were sampled multiple times. This dataset includes animal sex, age class, the date the sample was collected, animal body mass, head length, and head-to-torso length. From 20 May - 8 June 2021, a Virginia Tech team of 2-3 sampled the macroinvertebrate community in 30 Shenandoah Valley streams (Virginia and West Virginia, USA) as part of a larger stream-health study including other teams who surveyed geomorphology, water quality, flow, temperature,fish community, and fish health at the same 30 streams. The macroinvertebrate community team also characterized the habitat units sampled for macroinvertebrates. At each stream, we sampled macroinvertebrates in two ways:1) in each stream we took 5 slack samples in riffles according to NAWQA protocol, and 2) we selected the most available and productive habitat where we used the Slack sampler to collect 5 additional samples in wood debris...

This dataset is a compilation of 125 site years of data collected between 2004-2017 from 26 agricultural fields (2-17 ha) in Minnesota and Wisconsin, representing 13 environmental and seven management factors. Each field was continually monitored for snowmelt and storm event surface runoff volume and phosphorus (P) concentrations. Event data were compiled to calculate both P loads and flow-weighted mean P concentrations during frozen and non-frozen conditions each year. This dataset consists of qualitative information (such as agricultural landuse types, crop rotation information, and soil classifications) and quantitative information (measurements of precipitation and runoff, calculation of P yield).
