The data set consists of evapotranspiration measurements made at the USGS Dead River forested wetland climate station beginning November 21, 2009 and ending February 29, 2016. Annual ET rates corrected to a near-surface energy-budget varied from 1448 mm (2012) to 1614 mm (2010). The eddy-covariance method was used, with high-frequency sensors installed above the forest canopy to measure sensible and latent heat fluxes. Ancillary meteorological data are also included in the data set: net radiation, soil temperature and moisture, air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, and ground-water levels. Data were collected at 30-minute resolution, with evapotranspiration corrected to the near-surface...

The data set consists of monthly sums of 30-minute evapotranspiration measurements made at the USGS Starkey pasture climate station beginning May 1, 2003 and ending April 30, 2016. Annual evapotranspiration rates corrected to a near-surface energy-budget for the 12 calendar years of record at this site (2004-2015) varied from 718 millimeters (2007) to 903 millimeters (2010). The eddy-covariance method was used, with high-frequency sensors installed above the pasture to measure sensible and latent heat fluxes. Ancillary meteorological data are also included in the data set: rainfall and ground-water levels. This dataset consists of a detailed digital map and summary of irrigated acreage during the 2016 growing season developed for Polk County, Florida. Selected attribute data were collected for the irrigated areas, including crop type, primary water source, and type of irrigation system.

Water-level measurements of wells were taken in the Upper Floridan aquifer between the dates of May 2 and June 23, 2010. A GIS shapefile of these water-level measurements was constructed and released as part of a prior USGS publication (Kinnaman and Dixon, 2011). This ArcGIS layer was updated in August 2014 to include salinity-based density corrections to water levels in those areas of south Florida where water in the subject aquifer is not fresh. The density corrections to water levels result in the portrayal of the “equivalent freshwater head” values in brackish and saline areas of the Upper Floridan aquifer where water quality data were available.

The data set consists of 30-minute evapotranspiration measurements made at the U.S. Geological Survey Immokalee row crop climate station beginning September 22, 2008 and ending January 8, 2009. Daily evapotranspiration rates corrected to a near-surface energy-budget varied from 0.1 millimeter (9/28/2008) to 3.3 millimeters (9/24/2008). The eddy-covariance method was used, with high-frequency sensors installed above an experimental field planted in green peppers to measure sensible and latent heat fluxes. Ancillary meteorological data are also included in the data set: net radiation, soil temperature and moisture, air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, and ground-water level. The data set consists of daily sums of 30-minute evapotranspiration measurements made at the USGS Immokalee row crop climate station beginning September 23, 2008 and ending January 7, 2009. Daily ET rates corrected to a near-surface energy-budget varied from 0.1 mm (9/28/2008) to 3.3 mm (9/24/2008). The eddy-covariance method was used, with high-frequency sensors installed above an experimental field planted in green peppers to measure sensible and latent heat fluxes. Data were collected at 30-minute resolution, with evapotranspiration corrected to the near-surface energy-budget at that timescale. The study was conducted at an experimental field on the University of Florida Southwest Florida Research and Education...

This shapefile is the approximate location of mangroves within the boundary of Ten Thousand Islands NWR in 2014.
Hurricane Maria caused widespread landsliding throughout Puerto Rico in September 2017. While the majority of landslide inventories following the hurricane focused on mountainous regions underlain by igneous and volcaniclastic bedrock (Bessette-Kirton et al., 2017, 2019), here we fill an important knowledge gap and document the occurrence of landslides along the greater karst region on the northwest side of the island. To examine the extent and characteristics of landslides in this area, we mapped individual landslides in municipalities including Aguadilla, Aguada, Arecibo, Barceloneta, Bayamon, Camuy, Ciales, Corozal, Dorado, Florida, Hatillo, Isabela, Lares, Manati, Moca, Morovis, Quebradillas, Rincon, San Sebastian,...

This layer shows the potentiometric surface contours of the Upper Floridan Aquifer in Florida and parts of Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama in May 2010. Contours were manually contoured from well elevation data collected in May-June 2010. This layer was updated in August 2014 to include south Florida by calculating the equivalant freshwater head where water quality data was available.

Evapotranspiration measurements were made by the U.S. Geological Survey at the Starkey pasture climate station as part of a study that began April 2003 and ended April 2016. The metadata describe a table of the characteristics of the vegetation at the site from field visits, in comma-delimited format.

This dataset includes the results of a computer automated anuran vocalization recognition analysis of audio recordings made at Picayune Strand State Forest in 2011 and 2012. The audio files were scanned for 11 species of frogs and toads using the commercially available software program Song Scope (ver. 4.1.3). All detections by the software are listed here along with a "result" field which indicates whether or not the computer detection was a true positive or a false positive.
