The dataset consists of site identification, location, temperature and CO2 flux from diffuse emission measurement at the Tiptop fire. A total of 40 CO2 flux measurements were made at 27 locations, including five points (seven measurements) outside of the active coal fire area.

These data represent laboratory reflectance measurements conducted on a suite of sandstone, tuffaceous mudstone and claystone rocks and sediment, which are known host and source materials for roll front Uranium deposits mined throughout the South Texas Coastal Plains. Visible through Near Infrared through Shortwave Infrared (~0.4 - 2.5 microns) reflectance were measured using an artificial light source attached to an Analytical Spectral Devices (ASD) spectrometer. A total of 125 spectra were measured and analyzed, representing samples from nine former open-pit mine sites excavating rocks from four different mapped geologic units, including rocks and sediments from the Jackson Group, Catahoula, Oakville and Goliad...

This dataset includes ten years of emissions and sequestration estimates (2005-2014) in two separate tables, 1) the combustion and extraction of fossil fuels on Federal lands and 2) processes from the ecosystems on those Federal lands. The fossil fuel related estimates include the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O), and the ecosystems estimates include only CO2. The results are presented by State and year, including the Pacific and Gulf offshore areas in the fossil fuel associated estimates. In addition to total emissions, the estimates are broken into categories by the sector of the economy where the combustion or extraction related emissions occurred or the biologic process...

This data matrix contains the codebook vectors for a 82 x 50 neuron Emergent Self-Organizing Map which describes the multivariate topology of reservoir temperature and geochemical data for 190 samples of produced and geothermal waters from across the United States. Variables included are coordinates derived from reservoir temperature and concentration of Sc, Nd, Pr, Tb, Lu, Gd, Tm, Ce, Yb, Sm, Ho, Er, Eu, Dy, F, alkalinity as bicarbonate, Si, B, Br, Li, Ba, Sr, sulfate, H (derived from pH), K, Mg, Ca, Cl, and Na converted to units of proportion. The concentration data were converted to isometric log-ratio coordinates (following Hron et al., 2010), where the first ratio is Sc serving as the denominator to the geometric...

The attached data are apatite and zircon fission track measurements from rock samples collected across the western Brooks Range. Table 1 contains descriptive information on each sample. Tables 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d and 2e contain single grain, apatite fission track age data for samples from each of five datasets that comprise the overall apatite fission track age dataset. Tables 3a, 3b, 3c, and 3d contain apatite fission track length data for samples from four of the five datasets that comprise the overall apatite fission track length dataset. The oldest of the five datasets has no accompanying track length data. Table 4 contains summary information for each of the apatite fission track age samples. Table 5 contains summary...

Note: this data release has been superseded by a new version 3.0 published in 2023. Find the new version here: https://doi.org/10.5066/P9DSRCZJ. During hydrocarbon production, water is typically co-produced from the geologic formations producing oil and gas. Understanding the composition of these produced waters is important to help investigate the regional hydrogeology, the source of the water, the efficacy of water treatment and disposal plans, potential economic benefits of mineral commodities in the fluids, and the safety of potential sources of drinking or agricultural water. The U.S. Geological Survey National Produced Waters Geochemical Database v2.3 is an updated compilation of geochemical and related information...
