From May 2017 to November 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey conducted bathymetric surveys of New York City's East of Hudson Reservoirs. Bathymetry data were collected at Amawalk Reservoir from May 2018 to November 2019. Depth data were collected primarily with a multibeam echosounder. Quality assurance points were measured with a single-beam echosounder. Water surface elevations were established using real-time kinematic (RTK) and static global navigation satellite system (GNSS) surveys and submersible pressure transducers. Measured sound velocity profiles were used to correct echosounder depth measurements for thermal stratification. Digital elevation models were created by combining the measured bathymetry data...

This data release includes two digital orthomosaic images produced from uncrewed aerial system (UAS) imagery surveys conducted on August 14, 2019, and July 8, 2022 at an edge-of-field site north of Medina River Natural Area near San Antonio, Texas. These images were compiled from sets of aerial imagery included in this data release. Orthomosaic images can be used for visual reference but do not contain elevation data.

The stream segments available here were used in the Precipitation Runoff Modeling System (PRMS) of southern Guam documented by Rosa and Hay (2017). A Geographic Information System (GIS) file for the stream segments is provided as a shapefile with attributes ParentSeg, Region, and RegionSeg identifying the numbering convention used in the PRMS_2016 southern Guam model parameter files and Rosa and Hay (in press) report. Stream segments were derived using the processing steps outlined in Viger and Leavesley (2007) describing drainage network processing and a 5-meter digital elevation map (DEM) derived by Johnson (2012) using the Joint Airborne LIDAR Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise topobathy data (National...

This part of the data release presents projected flooding extent polygon (flood masks) and flooding depth points (flood points) shapefiles based on wave-driven total water levels for Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (the islands of Saipan and Tinian). For each island there are 8 associated flood mask and flood depth shapefiles: one for each of four nearshore wave energy return periods (rp; 10-, 50-, 100-, and 500-years) and both with (wrf) and without (worf) the presence of coral reefs.

This part of the data release presents projected flooding extent polygon (flood masks) and flooding depth points (flood points) shapefiles based on wave-driven total water levels for the Territory of the U.S. Virgin Islands (the islands of Saint Croix, Saint John, and Saint Thomas). For each island there are 8 associated flood mask and flood depth shapefiles: one for each four nearshore wave energy return periods (rp; 10-, 50-, 100-, and 500-years) and both with (wrf) and without (worf) the presence of coral reefs. Flooding depth point data are also presented as a comma-separated value (.csv) text file.

Field Data: The first ADCP data collection effort for this project was done on July 30th, 2015 represented with these bathymetric point locations on the Green River near Tukwilla, WA. Stream surface conditions in the vicinity of the project area were relatively flat and water clarity was good. The upstream and downstream extent of the fishing site was identified by the Muckleshoot’s fisheries biologist Martin Fox to correspond with a traditional fishing location. The upstream extent of the surveyed stream reach was defined by a slight riprap bank geometry change causing a seam in the stream flow. The seam is an observable line on the water surface separating two different flow regimes. Looking downstream and...

Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), downhole nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and manual permafrost-probe measurements were used to quantify permafrost characteristics along transects within several catchments in interior Alaska in late summer 2016 and 2017. Geophysical sites were chosen to coincide with additional soil, hydrologic, and geochemical measurements adjacent to various low-order streams and tributaries in a mix of burned and unburned watersheds in both silty and rocky environments. Data were collected in support of the Striegl-01 NASA ABoVE project, "Vulnerability of inland waters and the aquatic carbon cycle to changing permafrost and climate across boreal northwestern North America." Additional...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the City of Shawnee, performed a detailed bathymetric survey of Shawnee Reservoir in 2016. Shawnee Reservoir (locally known as Shawnee Twin Lakes) is a man-made reservoir on South Deer Creek in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. The reservoir consists of two lakes connected by an equilibrium channel. The southern lake (Shawnee City Lake Number 1) was impounded in 1935 and the northern lake (Shawnee City Lake Number 2) was impounded in 1960. Shawnee Reservoir has a normal pool elevation of 1,069.0 feet above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. The auxiliary spillway, which defines the flood pool, is at an elevation of 1,075.0 feet above North American Vertical...

From 2013 to 2015, bathymetric surveys of New York City’s six West of Hudson reservoirs (Ashokan, Cannonsville, Neversink, Pepacton, Rondout, and Schoharie) were performed to provide updated capacity tables and bathymetric maps. Depths were surveyed with a single-beam echo sounder and real-time kinematic global positioning system (RTK-GPS) along planned transects at predetermined intervals for each reservoir. A separate set of echo sounder data was collected along transects at oblique angles to the main transects for accuracy assessment. Field survey data was combined with water-surface elevations in a geographic information system to create three-dimensional surfaces representing reservoir-bed elevations in the...

The release includes data and analyses from 53 individual fault zones and 22 other brittle structures, such as breccia zones, joints, and veins, investigated at a total of just over 100 sites. Structures were examined and compared from poorly lithified Tertiary sediments, as well as Paleozoic sedimentary and Proterozoic crystalline rocks. Data and analyses, include geologic maps; field observations and measurements; orientation, kinematic paleostress analyses and modeling; statistical examination of 575 fault trace lengths derived from aeromagnetic data in the Española...

This publication provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric survey over the Ironton, Missouri area of southeast Missouri. Data were collected using a fixed wing aircraft with magnetometers mounted in the tail stinger and each wing tip pod and a fully calibrated gamma ray spectrometer. The survey operated out of the Farmington, Missouri airport during January to mid-February of 2016. The survey covers an irregularly shaped region within a 54 x 53 square-kilometer area centered on the town of Ironton, Missouri. Data were collected along north-south flight lines spaced 300 meters (m) apart with east-west tie lines flown every 3000 m. A mean terrain clearance...

This part of the data release presents a shapefile that includes a spatial index of orthoimagery and elevation data describing the Alaskan coastline from Icy Cape to Cape Prince of Wales. The data products referenced in this index include orthoimagery, digital surface models, and elevation point clouds which were generated from aerial imagery using structure-from-motion methods. Fairbanks Fodar, a contracted mapping service, collected the aerial imagery in 2016 and created all of the data products referenced here. Due to the enormous extent of this dataset, the products are split into separate files with more manageable sizes. Each polygon in this shapefile index provides a geographic outline of a data file’s coverage,...
