This metadata record describes a series of tabular datasets containing metrics used to characterize drought for select United States Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in and surrounding the Colorado River Basin for the climate years (April 1 – March 31) 1981 to 2020. These streamgages are a subset of those used in Geospatial Attributes of Gages for Evaluating Streamflow, version 2 (GAGES-II, Falcone, 2011) with some additional USGS streamgages not in the GAGES-II dataset added. The metrics include streamflow percentiles, identified drought events, annual low streamflow, and statistics for each drought event.

The Sprague River drains 4090 square kilometers in south-central Oregon before flowing into the Williamson River and upper Klamath Lake. In cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the USGS and University of Oregon conducted a study to evaluate channel and floodplain processes for the 131 km of the Sprague River and its major tributaries, including the lower 20 km of the South Fork Sprague River, the lower 16 km of the...

The domain of the model is as follows: Row River from Dorena dam to the confluence with the Coast Fork; Coast Fork from Cottage Grove dam to the confluence with the Middle Fork; Silk Creek from River Mile 1.7 to the confluence with the Coast Fork. The basis for these features is the Willamette Flood Insurance Study – Phase One (2013). The hydraulics and hydrology for the FIS were reused in the production of these polygons; the reports and information associated with the FIS are applicable to this product. The Digital Elevation Model (DEM) utilized for the Willamette FIS submittal was produced by combining multiple overlapping topographic surveys for the Middle Fork and Coast Fork of the Willamette River. This DEM...

The Digital Elevation Model (DEM) utilized for this Willamette FIS submittal was produced by combining multiple overlapping topographic surveys for the Middle Fork and Coast Fork of the Willamette River. The DEM was created from four sources: LIDAR of the Springfield area that was flown in 2008, LIDAR of Silk Creek that was flown in 2011, LIDAR of Fall Creek that was flown in 2012, and photogrammetry of the Middle Fork and Coast Fork of the Willamette River that was flown in 2004. In areas where no high-resolution elevation data were available, USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED) data were used to supplement the DEM. This feature represents the areas NED information is presented. The horizontal datum of the DEM...

The pmtop_f grid represents the modeled elevation of the top of the Older Bedrock geomodel unit at a 500 foot resolution. It is one grid of a geomodel that consists of eleven grids and a spatial extent polygon shapefile. As part of a U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Resources Program study, a three-dimensional geomodel was constructed for approximately 53,000 mi2 of the Columbia Plateau in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. This geomodel...

The Tillamook, Trask, Wilson, Kilchis, and Miami Rivers flow into Tillamook Bay near the towns of Tillamook and Garibaldi. The Wilson and Trask River basins cover the largest areas (500 and 451 square kilometers, respectively) whereas the Tillamook and Kilchis Rivers encompass...

These data are solubility calculations for dissolved gases in groundwater samples collected to support a U.S. Geological Survey study to estimate the timing and source of recharge to the basalt groundwater system in the Umatilla River basin, Oregon. The software package Dissolved Gas Modeling and Environmental Tracer Analysis (DGEMTA; Jurgens and others, 2020) was used to develop the solubility calculations. DGMETA produces estimates of dissolved gas concentrations during recharge as well as estimates of recharge temperature, excess air, and excess nitrogen gas concentrations by optimizing the solutions of solubility equations for multiple gases dissolved in samples of groundwater. These data were collected during...
