Dataset contains digital versions of physical core logs housed in Missouri Geological Survey archives. The logs are variable in detail, ranging from simple locations and formation tops to extensive stratigraphic descriptions and chemistry. A portion were done by MGS staff; others were donated by industry, academia, and government entities. The dataset includes logs for mines or undeveloped deposits with occurrences of or potential for critical minerals, along with logs in areas with permissive geology. The dataset comprises three tables: header and location information; formation/stratigraphic top, bottom and written description; and geochemical and assay data.
Annual summaries of mineral extraction and exploration activities in Idaho and factors impacting these activities. Published and unpublished content. In 1975 Idaho Geological Survey, then named Idaho Bureau of Mines and Geology, began compiling annual summaries for use by U.S. Bureau of Mines and U.S. Geological Survey annual reports after dissolution of the office of the Idaho State Inspector of Mines in 1974. These state data resources are generally more rich in content and context than federal summaries. As part of an ongoing project funded in part by U.S. Geological Survey and Idaho Department of Lands, data from these documents are being geo-related within the Idaho Geological Survey's Database of Mines and...

The Geochemistry Repository is an active collection of whole-rock geochemical data generated by the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology (MBMG). The geochemical data are organized in a public facing database with attributes describing sample location, geologic context, analytical method, and laboratory of analysis. Hand samples, thin sections, and powder residues of processed samples are stored in the MBMG Geologic Materials Repository. The collection is digital and available to the public.

This collection is composed of whole-rock and EPMA tephra glass averages geochemical analyses of rocks from Alaskan volcanoes. Most of the data is from published papers, and some of it is unpublished data from AVO. It is contain analyses for approximately 13,000 samples. Nearly all of the collection is stored in a relational database; the collection is published and searchable at https://avo.alaska.edu/geochem/

Minnesota Geological Survey, in cooperation with industry, sampled the State of Minnesota and adjacent regions for till geochemistry and indicator minerals at a 30-km spacing during summer 2004. Within target cells, each a quarter-degree latitude by a half-degree longitude, till from between about 1 and 2 m depth was sampled by filling a 15 liter plastic pail. At a few sites, vertical profiles were collected. In addition, three transects to the north were sampled, to help identify sediments derived by long-distance glacial transport, to obtain reference samples from the Thompson nickel belt, and also to extend sampling to the limit of Hudson Bay-derived carbonate-bearing sediments, to permit comparison to Minnesota...

The Missouri Geological Survey (MGS) mineral resource file collection is a one-of-a-kind collection, dating to the early 1900s, that contains unique geologic information not recorded elsewhere. Due to the historic nature of the collection the data it contains would be impossible to replicate today. These data are invaluable to present day geologic research, field and mine-related projects as well as engineering and construction projects. The files not only contain irreplaceable physical geologic information, but document the evolving geologic interpretations and nomenclature during a dynamic time in the science of geology. The files are scanned and have a subject inventory. The scans are available from the MGS in...
