Approximately 18,000 data points showing depth to Precambrian in Wisconsin in an ArcGIS Online map. Data points are based on well records, drillhole core, and geologists' interpretations of samples and drill records. Data points are sparse in areas where Paleozoic bedrock overlies the Precambrian.
Scanned unique documents (maps, geologic reports, drill logs, assays, correspondence, etc.) and other data related to mineral exploration and extraction activity in Idaho

The Oregon Geologic Data Compilation (OGDC) is a digital data collection of geologic studies created by the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI).
Multispectral remote sensing data acquired by Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) sensor were analyzed using an automated technique to generate surficial mineralogy and vegetation maps of the conterminous western United States. Six spectral indices (e.g. band-ratios), highlighting distinct spectral absorptions, were developed to aid in the identification of mineral groups in exposed rocks, soils, mine waste rock, and mill tailings across the landscape. The data are centered on the western U.S. and cover portions of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, the Canada-U.S. border, and the Mexico-U.S. border during the summers of 2013 – 2014. Methods used to process the images and algorithms used to infer mineralogical composition...

This database contains a comprehensive inventory of geologic (coral, coral reef, limestone, and sediment) cores and samples collected, analyzed, published, and/or archived by, or in collaboration with, the U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS SPCMSC). The SPCMSC Geologic Core and Sample Database includes geologic cores and samples collected beginning in the 1970s to present day, from study sites across the world. This database can be accessed through the CoreViewer 3.0 ArcOnline web mapping application, linked below. A copy of the data can also be downloaded from the web mapping application and the metadata is accessible through a link in the header of the application, as...

Oil and gas digitized paper logs, and other analyses in geodatabase. Log ASCII Standard (LAS) files of select scanned well logs from Idaho Geological Survey's publication "DD-3: Historical Oil and Gas Data for Idaho" database of exploration wells across the state. Logs curves converted to LAS files may include: Gamma, Caliper (cal), Resistivity, Spontaneous Potential (SP), Bulk Density, Neutron Porosity, and density porosity. Locations of boreholes, attributes, and PDFs of more than 700 Geophysical logs and other data can be downloaded or viewed at no cost via the Idaho Geological Survey's interactive Oil and Gas webmap.
Hand specimens of rocks collected as a part of field work conducted primarily by present and former WGNHS staff members. Samples date from the early 20th century to the 1990s and were collected throughout the state. Many of the samples are described in the historical field notebook collection, and relationships between the samples and the field notebooks have been established and captured in identifiers. Locations for samples were taken from field notes, maps, and accession lists. There are approximately 5,700 hand samples in this collection.

These datasets consists of responses to a standardized, web-based survey of partners and potential partners of the regional Climate Adaptation Science Center (CASC). An initial sample for the survey was compiled from science producers and science users identified by the CASC, Landscape Conservation Cooperative staff and steering committee members with regions that overlapped with the CASC's region, and members of the AFWA Climate Science Committee. The survey documented the ways in which partners were engaged with the CASC and the factors affecting their engagement. The survey questions were developed based on insights from the focus groups conducted during the reviews of three previous CASCs and a review of the...
This data set contains information from previously published research and investigations by the Geological Survey of Alabama. The data is specific to content and presence of critical minerals commodities and resources in Alabama.
Dataset contains sample-level metadata on unpublished field maps contained in Missouri Geological Survey archives. Maps were used for a wide range of projects; therefore type and quantity of data on each map varies considerably. Maps contain spatial data (locations of mines, springs, wells, outcrops, sinkholes, and other features), as well as field notes, measured and cross sections, detail sketches, material properties, and other geologic data. Maps are primarily 7.5-minute and 15-minute quadrangles; some with other scales are included. Display coordinates are the lower left hand corner of the map. Maps are available through the Material Request instructions noted below. MGS is in the process of attaching individual...
This collection as a whole includes diamond drill core from hardrock/lode mineral prospects that have been donated to the Alaska Geologic Materials Center (GMC) by private entities or that have been recovered from properties during reclamation of historic mine and exploration sites by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The core is stored in waxed cardboard or plastic boxes. Mineralized portions, and in some cases the entire the core, has been split and sampled. Some core may have been quartered and sampled, or entirely consumed. The condition and completeness of the core varies widely. The individual records listed are comprised of diamond drill core from identified mineral prospects; it may include some coal prospects,...

This collection consists of primarily of well logs and data generated throughout Warren Finch's career focused on uranium and the exploration of sources for it. The collection consists of 3 boxes of Atomic Energy Commission drill hole logs and associated documents and data, 5 boxes of USGS logs and assays, 11 boxes of Log Information Library documents, 1 box labeled "misc. log files -- public," and 17 boxes containing misc. well logs and associated files and data generated throughout his career. The collection is in 38 cardboard boxes on 2 pallets.

This collection houses well logs and construction data for water wells, exploration holes, gas storage structures, geotechnical borings, etc. The collection includes but is not limited to: drilling logs, down-hole geophysical logs, and striplogs (lithologic and stratigraphic logs produced by the IGS). This collection represents data from paper files that complement our cuttings/core collections. Together, they comprise much of the basic, raw geologic data for the state.

An FY17 NGGDPP grant funded a demolition project to rescue of 1952+ core boxes from a collapsed building, the Cary Annex. The OTHER Undocumented Core Collections (OUCC) defined herein helps compile the interim results of an inventory of 781 of the 1952+ rescued boxes, funded by an FY21 NGGDPP grant. As a result of the inventory, 277 core boxes were identified that are associated with 63 new, previously undocumented boreholes. All of the boxes were damaged and likely need reboxing; 85 were reboxed by NCGS staff. Some of the core boxes have partial losses of core lengths; some material is weathered in situ (in the box). These collections include HARD ROCK and TRIASSIC geologic core samples. Coordinate data is not...
Abstract (from http://www.tandfonline.com/eprint/EBxQ7emIEP3P6pzxz74H/full) Drought is a hazard that inflicts costly damage to agricultural, hydrologic, and ecological systems and affects human health and prosperity. A comprehensive assessment of resilience to the drought hazard in various communities and an identification of the main variables that affect resilience is crucial to coping with the hazard and promoting resilience. This study assessed the community resilience to drought hazards of all 503 counties of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas using the resilience inference measurement (RIM) model for the period of 2000 to 2015. Through k-means cluster analysis, stepwise discriminant analysis...

This collection is composed of hand samples, thin sections, geochemical pulps and crushed splits of rock collected by the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO), a joint program of the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAFGI), and the Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys (ADGGS). It includes rocks from AVO field projects as well as samples collected by AVO-supported graduate students as part of our efforts to better understand eruptive processes and mitigate eruption hazards. It is estimated that there are about 30,000 samples in this collection. The Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys division of AVO has no direct...
