The Geochemical Database for Iron Oxide-Copper-Cobalt-Gold-Rare Earth Element Deposits of Southeast Missouri (IOCG-REE_GX) contains new geochemical data compilations for samples from IOCG-REE type deposits in which each rock sample has one "best value" determination for each analyzed species, greatly improving speed and efficiency of use. IOCG-REE_GX was created and designed to compile whole-rock and trace element data from southeast Missouri in order to facilitate petrologic studies, mineral resource assessments, and the definition and statistics of geochemical baseline values. This relational database serves as a data archive in support of present and future geologic and geochemical studies of IOCG-REE type deposits,...

The geochemical data included here were generated as part of a Technical Assistance Agreement between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Rio Tinto Exploration based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Beginning in November of 2015, we began a project to reanalyze up to 60,000 archived sample splits originally collected as part of the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) project from selected areas in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. A small amount (approximately 0.25 g) of sieved <75 micron sample material was retrieved from the USGS National Geochemical Sample Archive for geochemical analysis. These samples were analyzed...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release (ver. 1.2, April 2022) contains a set of previously unpublished geochemical data from project studies of primitive areas in central Idaho, including the Clear Creek-Upper Big Deer Creek Area, the Salmon River Breaks and Sawtooth Primitive Areas, and the Gospel-Hump Wilderness Area. The purpose of the USGS Idaho Primitive Area studies, conducted from 1966 to 1984, was to describe the geology, determine petrologic and geochemical characteristics, and evaluate the mineral resource potential of these primitive areas and adjacent study areas. In the case of the Idaho Primitive Area study (Cater and others, 1973), the primitive area covers 1,915 square miles; adjacent...

Approximately 1,900 square kilometers of imagery were collected from July 14 to July 21, 2014 using a HyMap™ sensor (Cocks and others, 1998) mounted on a modified Piper Navajo aircraft. The survey area covered parts of the Wrangell and Nutzotin Mountains in the eastern Alaska Range near Nabesna, Alaska. The aircraft was flown at an altitude of approximately 5,050 meters (m) (3,480 m above the mean ground surface elevation of 1570 m) resulting in average ground spatial resolution of 6.7 m. HyMap measured reflected sunlight in 126 narrow channels that cover the wavelength region of 455 to 2,483 nanometers (nm). Data were delivered by the operators of the sensor (HyVista Corp., Australia) in units of radiance (Kokaly...

The geochemical data included here were generated as part of the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI), which was developed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in response to a Federal directive calling on various Federal agencies to address potential vulnerabilities in the Nation’s supply of critical mineral resources. Earth MRI is a partnership between the USGS, State Geological Surveys, and industry coordinating with other federal agencies to accomplish the mission. The primary purpose of this initiative is to identify potentially mineralized areas containing critical minerals by gathering new basic geologic data about the United States and its territories and to make these data publicly available through...

This data release includes 40Ar/39Ar data from the U.S. Geological Survey for samples from the Santa Cruz Basin, Arizona. Mineral samples were collected by Kenzie Turner and William Page from the upper Santa Cruz Basin, Arizona. Potassium-bearing mineral grains were separated from the bulk sample and analyzed by argon geochronology at the U.S. Geological Survey Argon Geochronology Laboratory in Denver, Colorado. The data provide age constraints on units in the relevant geologic mapping area.

A helicopter-borne electromagnetic/magnetic survey was flown over the Stillwater area, southwest Montana from May 5 to May 16, 2000. The survey was conducted over the Stillwater Igneous Complex, a Precambrian layered mafic-ultramafic intrusion which is characterized by igneous layering. Electromagnetic data were acquired using DIGHEM helicopter-borne electromagnetic system. Magnetic data were collected with optically pumped Cesium Vapor Geometrics G822 magnetometer. Sensor elevation above ground was measured with Honeywell/Sperry AA220 radar. The nominal elevation of the sensor was 60 meters. Survey coverage comprises 1,914 line kilometers, including tie lines. Flight lines were flown in an azimuthal direction of...

Airborne electromagnetic (AEM), magnetic, and radiometric data were acquired in late February to early March 2018 along 2,364 line-kilometers in the Shellmound, Mississippi study area. Data were acquired by CGG Canada Services, Ltd. with three different helicopter-borne sensors: the CGG Canada Services, Ltd. RESOLVE frequency-domain AEM instrument that is used to map subsurface geologic structure at depths up to 100 meters, depending on the subsurface resistivity; a Scintrex CS-3 cesium vapor magnetometer that detects changes in deep (hundreds of meters to kilometers) geologic structure based on variations in the magnetic properties of different formations; and a Radiation Solutions RS-500 spectrometer that detects...

The Alaska Geochemical Database Version 3.0 (AGDB3) contains new geochemical data compilations in which each geologic material sample has one best value determination for each analyzed species, greatly improving speed and efficiency of use. Like the Alaska Geochemical Database Version 2.0 before it, the AGDB3 was created and designed to compile and integrate geochemical data from Alaska to facilitate geologic mapping, petrologic studies, mineral resource assessments, definition of geochemical baseline values and statistics, element concentrations and associations, environmental impact assessments, and studies in public health associated with geology. This relational database, created from databases and published...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS), and Coal Creek Watershed Coalition (CCWC) working independently, have intermittently collected samples of surface- and groundwater and springs around Mount Emmons, near Crested Butte, Colorado. This data release is a compilation of the comprehensive inorganic chemical analyses conducted as a result of that sampling. The earliest samples were collected in the summer of 1997, and subsequent sampling has continued through 2019. Water samples collected in the Elk Creek basin, sample identifiers starting with EC, have been previously published in three U.S. Geological Survey reports; Verplanck and others, 2007, Manning and...
