Sea level rise projections produced by the University of Florida Geoplan Center. These projections measure sea level rise in meter increments up until 6 meters, the predicted sea level rise measure if both Greenland and the West Antarctic ice sheet melt.

This dataset explores the physical reality of the population growth from 2005 to 2060 without changes to existing land use policy or gross urban density. The land use suitability analysis displayed in this dataset was performed by the GeoPlan Center for 1000 Friends of Florida and is a companion study to "A Time for Leadership: Growth Management and Florida 2060" prepared for 1000 Friends of Florida by researchers at Georgia Tech's Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development. GeoPlan's project was undertaken using relatively straightforward geographic information systems (GIS) suitability analysis constructed on a foundation of clearly articulated assumptions. The three key assumptions were: 1)...

The Cooperative Land Cover Map is a project to develop an improved statewide land cover map from existing sources and expert review of aerial photography. The project is directly tied to a goal of Florida's State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) to represent Florida's diverse habitats in a spatially-explicit manner. The Cooperative Land Cover Map integrates 3 primary data types: 1) 6 million acres are derived from local or site-specific data sources, primarily on existing conservation lands. Most of these sources have a ground-truth or local knowledge component. We collected land cover and vegetation data from 37 existing sources. Each dataset was evaluated for consistency and quality and assigned a confidence category...

This dataset has three data layers. The first represents the richness of potential habitat for selected focal species in Florida. The second represents all potential habitats in Florida for selected focal species, in binary format (true/false).This third represents all potential habitats in Florida formatted for queries by focal species; identifies focal species that may inhabit selected pixel(s). Potential habitat includes areas that have been occupied by the species and areas where occupancy is unknown based on available occurrence records. In 1994, researchers in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission completed a project, entitled Closing The Gaps in Florida's Wildlife Habitat Conservation System...

FLORIDA CONSERVATION LANDS (layer name FLMA): This is a polygon data layer for public (and some private) lands that the Florida Natural Areas Inventory (FNAI) has identified as having natural resource value and that are being managed at least partially for conservation purposes. The term "Managed Area" refers to a managed conservation land.

Priority resources are the set of biological, ecological, and cultural features and ecological processes collaboratively identified as most important, and are the focus of the PFLCC’s planning and scientific efforts. These are based on the draft set of priority resources established by the first Conservation Target Working Group of the PFLCC. The priority resources established in this working group are as follows: coastal uplands, cultural, estuarine, freshwater aquatic, freshwater forested wetlands, freshwater non-forested wetlands, hardwood forested uplands, high pine and scrub, landscape connectivity, marine, pine flatwoods and dry prairie, and working lands. The majority of these priority resources are based...

Sea level rise datasets selected from sketch tool, visualizing Mean Higher High Water and Mean Sea Level projections for 3 sea level change scenarios. Researchers from the University of Florida developed a sketch planning tool that can be used to conduct statewide and regional assessments of transportation facilities potentially vulnerable to climate trends. The project focused on the potential vulnerability of transportation infrastructure to the effects of possible future rates of sea level change (SLC) and increasing tidal datums (Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW), Mean Low Water (MWL), Mean Sea Lea Level (MSL), Mean High Water (MHW), and Mean Higher High Water (MHHW). US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) sea level...
