A view of the Camden Moraine along Interstate 70 at mile marker 4 in Jefferson Township, Preble County, Ohio. The Camden Moraine is a broad, low-lying ridge that trends northwest-southeast across the highway and marks the position where a receding Ice Age glacier remained stationary for a period of perhaps several hundred years. The view westward at mile marker 4 provides an excellent view of this end moraine rising above the nearly level ground moraine around it. Meltwater flowing from the front of the glacier scoured a drainage way through the moraine in order to reach the East Fork of the Whitewater River in Indiana. The image was made by C. Scott Brockman in 1989.

Stop 16 of the Friends of the Pleistocene Eastern Group Field Conference trip led by Richard P. Goldtwait. Stop 16 was located north of Mechanicsburg on Ohio State Route 161 in Goshen Township, Champaign County, Ohio. The roadcut at the location showed till over gravel. On the knolls, sand lies on the till. The stop was on a moraine crest. The crest is largely kame moraine and may represent extension of the London moraine. Over 90 people attended the 15th annual conference, which was held May 23rd-25th, 1952. The photograph was taken by John H. Melvin in May 25, 1952.
