This dataset represents the projected urban growth in the Northern Gulf of Mexico in 2060 with a 50% or greater probability of being urban. It was predicted by the model SLEUTH, developed by Dr. Keith C. Clarke, at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Department of Geography and modified by David I. Doato of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Eastern Geographic Science Center (EGSC). Further model modification and implementation was performed at the Biodiversity and Spatial Information Center at North Carolina State University. Attempts to stabilize the shore can greatly influence rates of shoreline change. Beach nourishment in particular will bias rates of observed shoreline change toward accretion or stability, even though the natural beach, in the absence of nourishment, would be eroding. Trembanis and Pilkey (1998) prepared a summary of identifiable beach nourishment projects in the Gulf Coast region that had been conducted before 1996. This dataset contains statistical descriptions of observed daily-mean streamflow for 956 sites in the southeast United States. For each site, statistical descriptions are provided according to decade for up to six decades, beginning in 1950 (1950-59 calendar years) and ending with 2000 (2000 - 2009 calendar years) with no more than 7 missing values per year in total (continuous or noncontinuous).
