The largest glacier in the United States is the Bering Glacier, near Cordova, Alaska. With its associated icefield feeders it is 203 km (126 miles) long and covers an area of more than 5,000 square kilometers (1,900 square miles). Only a fraction of the lower part of this immense glacier is shown in this view, looking northeast to where the glacier passes between Waxell Ridge (left) and Barkley Ridge (right).
