Album caption: Keewatin drift exposed on Belly River southeast of Hill Spring, Alberta. T. 4 N., R. 27 W. Dense, grayish jointed till containing a small percentage of Laurentian pebbles. Album caption: Deposits exposed in bluff on Waterton River between steel bridge and its junction with Belly River west of Belly Butte. T. 6 N., R 25 W. 1. Dark soil, grading down into - 1 foot; 2. Dull, buff, unstratified, loess-like stoneless clay containing small shells - 1-20 feet; 3. Stratified sand and gravel, pebbles mostly from Rocky Mountains, some from Laurentian formations - 3-5 feet; 4. Dense, tough, jointed, clayey Keewatin till. Upper part and joint faces weathered brownish, lower part slaty blue. Pebbles mostly from Rocky Mountains, small percentage Laurentian. Bottom not exposed - 75+ feet. Alta. September 16, 1912. Loose, buff Keewatin till with Rocky Mountain and Laurentain pebbles (glacial) - 3-13 feet; Unconformity; 2. Laminated papery silt - 1-3 feet; 3. Buff, wind-bedded loess alternating with beds of fine stratified sand (interglacial) - 0-50+/- feet; 4. Compact, jointed Keewatin till with Rocky Mountain and Laurentain pebbles (glacial). Upper 15 feet oxidized buff in places, dark gray below - 25-30 feet; 5. Quartzite gravels ("Saskatchewan," interglacial, or pre-glacial) with some interbedded sand - 10-15 feet; 6. Album caption: View looking down Belly River from bluff east of electric power house, Lethbridge, Alta. The following deposits are exposed: 1. Buff, loose-textured to moderately compact, clayey Keewatin till containing plentiful Laurentian pebbles and Paleozoic(?) limestone pebbles, beneath upper grassed slope - 150+/- feet; 2. Fine gray, compact, cemented sand or silt (interglacial?) with, in places, some intercalated thin layers of brown to black lignitic material. Contorted in part in places. Clay-iron nodules in places at top of bare shoulders of the bluff - 10 +/- feet; 3. Dense, compact, dark-gray Keewatin till, pebbles mostly of Rocky Mountain rocks. Album caption: Boulder of coarse-grained quartzite, one of a line of such described by Dawson, on plain near east front of south end of Porcupine Hills west of Macleod, Alta, at 3400+/- A.T. T. 9 N., R 27 W. From pre- Cambrian of Rocky Mountains, 25-20 miles to west or southwest(?), maybe Huronian from east (see Dawson). Now lying on Cretaceous plains, rocks covered with Keewatin drift.
