The great rock at left and that of which base appears at right remind one of El Capitan in the Yosemite. The cliff at left is about 800 ft. high, I estimate. Album caption: Washington County, Utah. One of the finest of the Temples of the Virgin, Zion Canyon, Utah. Looking east, S.E. across canyon about 7 miles above Springdale. This rock is very impressive with its flanking columns, deeply arched face and white, dome like summit. The picture was taken just at sun down of a rather sombre evening, and does not benefit from the usual play of light and shade. Exposure 2 1/2 sec.
