This dataset includes magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in July 2019 in the Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, in the Southern Rocky Mountain Volcanic Field, by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This section of the data release includes core images in the format of photos (JPG) that have been compressed into a zipped file (2018LakePowellCoring_CorePhotos.zip). It is Part 4 (of four) in this data release and contains images of the cleaned archival half from split cores as they appeared immediately after splitting (late March and early April 2019). Development of a high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM) of the pre-Glen Canyon Dam topography in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Utah and Arizona was initiated to assist the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in its Lake Powell coring program in the fall of 2018 (https://www.usgs.gov/centers/ut-water/science/lake-powell-coring). The Lake Powell Coring Project was a USGS research effort, in cooperation with the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. National Park Service. In the fall of 2018, hydraulic piston cores targeted sediment that had been deposited in Lake Powell. This large reservoir on the Colorado River in Utah and Arizona was created after the completion of Glen Canyon Dam in 1963. Retrieval and analysis of cores was undertaken in response to the Gold King mine release from the Bonita Peak Mining District in Colorado on August 5, 2015. This data release presents geologic map data for the surficial geology of the Aztec 1-degree by 2-degree quadrangle. The map area lies within two physiographic provinces of Fenneman (1928): the Southern Rocky Mountains province, and the Colorado Plateau province, Navajo section. Geologic mapping is mostly compiled from published geologic map data sources ranging from 1:24,000 to 1:250,000 scale, with limited new interpretive contributions. Gaps in map compilation are related to a lack of published geologic mapping at the time of compilation, and not necessarily a lack of surficial deposits. It is Part 3 (of four) in this data release and provides geophysical core logs at 0.5-cm intervals from a Multi-Sensor Core Logger and Konica Minolta spectrophotometer. Airborne electromagnetic (AEM) and magnetic survey data were collected during April and May 2019 along 1,467 line-kilometers in the San Juan-Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, in the Southern Rocky Mountain Volcanic Field. Data were acquired by Geotech, Ltd. with the versatile time-domain electromagnetic (VTEM-ET) system together with a Geometrics optically pumped cesium vapor magnetometer. The survey was flown at a mean flight height of 140 meters (m) above terrain in various line directions and line spacings ranging from 150 m to 600 m.
