Survival, behavior, reproduction, morphometric measurements, and tissue analyses of crayfish, mussels, and fish from acute toxicity tests with pyrethroid pesticides. Exposure and recovery water quality data are also included for quality assurance purposes.

This data release includes data from laboratory bioassay sediment exposures to Lampsilis siliquoidea and Hyallela azteca. Sediment was collected from streams and rivers within the Tri-State Mining District (TSMD). Endpoints include survival, reproduction and growth, metal concentrations, and various water quality parameters collected during the exposures

In order to estimate the costs of chemical control of non-indigenous crayfish versus the cost of manual inspection of fish hatchery shipments a cost analysis was performed. The data includes ranking the likelihood of missing non-indigenous crayfish and effects on fish of handling during manual searches and the effects on fish during chemical exposure. The data also includes estimates of the time, staff, and salary requirements and cost of materials for each approach.

This data release includes physical and chemical characteristics of field collected samples from streams and rivers within the Tri-State Mining District (TSMD) as well as toxicity endpoints from chronic water-only and sediment laboratory exposures including survival and growth of the mussel Lampsilis siliquoidea; survival, growth, and reproduction of the amphipod Hyalella azteca; metal concentrations, and various water quality parameters collected during the toxicity studies. Mining in the Tri-State Mining District took place over a large geographic area, with mining taking place in the three states of Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

We determined acute and chronic toxicity of sodium chloride (NaCl) and sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) to up to 7 freshwater species of different taxa in a hardness water of 40 mg/L as CaCO3 and evaluated the effect of 4 hardness waters (15, 30, 60, and 120 mg/L as CaCO3) on acute toxicity of NaCl and Na2SO4 to 3 sensitive species tested in the acute exposures. This data release reports results from acute and chronic exposures with Ceriodaphnia dubia (cerios), Chironomus dilutus (midge), Hyalella azteca (amphipod), Hyla versicolor (gray treefrog), Lampsilis abrupta (pink mucket), Lampsilis siliquoidea (fatmucket), and Pimephales promelas (fathead minnow. Date include survival, size, and other endpoints and associated water...

This data release includes data from four week sediment laboratory exposures to 1 and 2 month old Lampsilis siliquoidea. Sediment was collected from streams and rivers within the Tri-State Mining District (TSMD). Endpoints include survival and growth, metal concentrations, and various water quality parameters collected during the toxicity studies.

Physiological endpoints observed in adult largemouth bass in response to an EE2 (17 alpha-ethinylestradiol) or mixture of estrone and atrazine exposure under laboratory pond conditions. Also included are water quality and chemical concentration data. Adult LMB were exposed in outdoor pond mesocosms from post-spawning to early gonad recrudescence to either EE2 (2.4 nanograms per liter), or a mixture of endocrine-active substances commonly detected in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, atrazine (5.4 micrograms per liter) and estrone (47.9 nanograms per liter). Male reproductive condition, sperm count, and sperm motility were assessed.

Dataset consists of morphometric measurements from unionid Pondmussel (Ligumia subrostrata) and concentrations of four per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water and freshwater mussels collected from a 14-day accumulation and 7-day elimination study. The accumulation of four per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were measured. Samples (4 replicates) were collected at 0, 4, 12, 48, 96, 168, and 336 hours during the uptake phase of the exposure. Samples (4 replicates) were collected at time point 348, 360, 408, and 504 hours during the elimination phase of the exposure. Note the time points are sequential with the uptake portion of the study followed by the elimination portion of the study.
