This shapefile is the official boundary of the Western Native Trout Initiative. The boundary was originally developed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and was updated in 2013 to reflect revisions from the Western Native Trout Initiative, a recognized Fish Habitat Partnership (FHP) of the National Fish Habitat Partnership.

The “Biophysical assessment for indemnity selection of federal lands in Colorado: Indemnity Unit locations” dataset delineates the spatial locations of 89 Indemnity Units, comprising 339 parcels of federal lands. These lands, currently managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), are under consideration for transfer of ownership to the State of Colorado in compensation for federal lands not available for transfer at the time of statehood. The Indemnity Units total 23,130 acres of surface and mineral estate and 6,150 acres of mineral estate only. The specific land parcels to be transferred to the State will be finalized after an environmental analysis is completed, as required by the National Environmental Policy...

This raster represents a continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI) values for northeastern California. HSIs were calculated for spring (mid-March to June), summer (July to mid-October), and winter (November to March) sage-grouse seasons, and then multiplied together to create this composite dataset.

This shapefile defines the two distinct zones within the 2013 boundary of the Pacific Marine and Estuarine Fish Habitat Partnership (PMEP), a recognized Fish Habitat Partnership (FHP) of the National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP). The two zones of the PMEP include the estuarine and marine nearshore complex (PMEP focus area, coastal subregions, and nearshore marine waters) of the states of California, Oregon, and Washington.

wy_lvl2_finescale: Wyoming hierarchical cluster level 2 (fine-scale) for Greater sage-grouse We developed a hierarchical clustering approach that identifies biologically relevant landscape units that can 1) be used as a long-term population monitoring framework, 2) be repeated across the Greater sage-grouse range, 3) be used to track the outcomes of local and regional populations by comparing population changes across scales, and 4) be used to inform where to best spatially target studies that identify the processes and mechanisms causing population trends to change among spatial scales. The spatial variability in the amount and quality of habitat resources can affect local population success and result in different...

This shapefile is the official boundary of the Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture. The boundary was originally developed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and was updated in 2013 to reflect revisions from the Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture, a recognized Fish Habitat Partnership (FHP) of the National Fish Habitat Partnership.

This map layer shows Indian lands of the United States. For the most part, only areas of 320 acres or more are included; some smaller areas deemed to be important or significant are also included. Federally-administered lands within a reservation are included for continuity; these may or may not be considered part of the reservation and are simply described with their feature type and the administrating Federal agency. Some established Indian lands which are larger than 320 acres are not included in this map layer because their boundaries were not available from the owning or administering agency.

The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) is a feature-based database that interconnects and uniquely identifies the stream segments or reaches that make up the nation's surface water drainage system. NHD data was originally developed at 1:100,000-scale and exists at that scale for the whole country. This high-resolution NHD, generally developed at 1:24,000/1:12,000 scale, adds detail to the original 1:100,000-scale NHD. (Data for Alaska, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands was developed at high-resolution, not 1:100,000 scale.) Local resolution NHD is being developed where partners and data exist. The NHD contains reach codes for networked features, flow direction, names, and centerline representations for areal water...

This raster dataset represents the boundaries of the hydrogeologic areas of the Southwest Principal Aquifer (SWPA) study of the National Water Quality Assessment (NAWQA) program. It is a compilation of the pre-existing Hydrogeologic Areas of the Southwest Ground-Water Resources Project, with additional data from the Central and Coastal basins of California, Northern New Mexico Rio Grande Valley, and South Central Colorado San Luis Valley.

Statewide lakes were assembled from seventeen separate files in the USGS 1:2,000,000 Digital Line Graphs (DLG) dataset and include only those polygons with AREA greater than 20 acres (80940 square meters). Polygons with the attribute MIN = 100 or arcs with the attribute LINECODE = 'L' are valid lakes. For data codes and details, please refer to the US Geological Survey Circular 895, 1982. Due to the limitation of ARC/INFO software at the time of processing these files, the lakes were originally processed into three groups. Then a framework of arcs surrounding those three groups allowed all the lakes to be united into one statewide lakes coverage. Any lakes which were interested either by the boundaries of the seventeen...

Federal protected areas such as national parks and preserves and wildlife refuges cover large areas of the study area. Because of its remote location, few people visit the region for recreational use, and except for the Iditarod, activities are concentrated in the summer. Recreation in the region includes sport hunting, sport fishing, and general outdoor hiking and camping activities.

This dataset shows unsettled state and native land claims at the section level filtered from general land status records in 2011 Land Information System Database downloaded from ASGDC. The Land Status attributes are a snapshot of the Land Information System Database and are only accurate as that database. The data is produced to the section (square mile) level.

U.S. Counties (Generalized) represents the counties of the United States in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. These data were reprojected to USA_Contiguous_Albers_Equal_Area_Conic_USGS_version and clipped to the MAR REA boundary.

This raster dataset represents Places II: Specially Designated Areas of Ecological and Cultural Value within the Mojave Basin and Range. These sites represent legally protected lands and waters. Plus lands that have been identified as known recovery lands (e.g. critical habitat recommended for recovery of Desert Tortoise and recovery units identified for the CA red legged frog).

This simple assessment layer is used to answer management questions (MQs) about which high biodiversity sites (HBS) will experience significant climate change in the near future scenario in the Mojave Basin and Range Ecoregion. This is a basic intersect of areas that will likely experience significant climate change effects with the areas that have been identified by previous 3rd party analyses as having extraordinary biodiversity. It does not model actual response or condition of the HBS to climate change. Nearly all HBS in the ecoregion will experience significant effects according to the criteria that were selected. The climate space trends data layer was used to ascertain areas of significant climate changes....

This data set represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular surveys. The primary source for the data is cadastral survey records housed by the BLM supplemented with local records and geographic control coordinates from states, counties as well as other federal agencies such as the USGS and USFS. The data has been converted from source documents to digital form and transferred into a GIS format that is compliant with FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standards and Guidelines for publication. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. This data set includes the following: PLSS Fully...
