High-resolution geophysical mapping of Lake Powell in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Utah and Arizona was conducted between October 8 and November 15, 2017, as part of a collaborative effort between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Bureau of Reclamation to provide high-quality data needed to reassess the area-capacity tables for the Lake Powell reservoir. Seismic data collected during this survey can help to define the rates of deposition within the San Juan and Colorado Rivers, which are the main inflows to Lake Powell. These new data are intended to improve water budget management decisions that affect the natural and recreational resources of the reservoir. Multibeam echosounder bathymetry and...

Presumably, the bridging effect of the blacktop and ground frost concealed the settlement during this period. Alaska earthquake of March 27, 1964. Anchorage district, Cook Inlet region, Alaska. 1964. This spatial data contains a combination of data that was published in a map of South Central Idaho in the late 1990s from submissions from the Bureau of Land Management and the Bureau of Reclamation and data that was added from the Bureau of Land Management Boise District. This layer is intended to be a source of wildlife tracts in Idaho. Use of this data include spatial analysis and cartographic products. This data will be made available to all users as BLM corporate data.

Protected lands within the Mississippi River Basin (MRB).The USGS Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) is the nation's inventory of protected areas, including public open space and voluntarily provided, private protected areas, identified as an A-16 National Geospatial Data Asset in the Cadastral Theme (http://www.fgdc.gov/ngda-reports/NGDA_Datasets.html). PAD-US is an ongoing project with several published versions of a spatial database of areas dedicated to the preservation of biological diversity, and other natural, recreational or cultural uses, managed for these purposes through legal or other effective means. The geodatabase maps and describes public open space and other protected areas....

The Lower Truckee River originates in the Sierra Nevada and flows through public, private, and tribally owned lands, including 31 miles of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe (PLPT) reservation, terminating in Pyramid Lake within the reservation. Once remarkably productive, a century of man-made changes have heavily degraded the river system, leaving it inundated with invasive weeds. Significant damage occurred as part of a 1960s flood control project, including river downcutting, depression of the groundwater table, and lowering of Pyramid Lake by as much as 81 vertical feet. By the 1970s, the river had lost roughly 90% of its forest canopy, 40% of its resident bird species, and had no resident Kooeyooe (also spelled...

This data set consists of federally owned land polygon features of the United States. The data set was created by extracting federal land polygon features from the individual 1:2,000,000-scale State boundary Digital Line Graph (DLG) files produced by the U.S. Geological Survey. These files were then appended into a single coverage. This is a revised version of the June 1998 data set. There may be private inholdings within the boundaries of Federal Lands in this data set. These data are intended for geographic display and analysis at the national level, and for large regional areas. The data should be displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:2,000,000-scale data. No responsibility is assumed by the U.S....

Background information. Site 36, the wastewater treatment plant on the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge (Crab Orchard NWR), is one of 21 sites on the refuge that have been remediated. The wastewater treatment plant, which was constructed as part of the Illinois Ordnance Plant in 1942, was used to treat wastewater from industrial tenants until the spring of 2005. Through a series of drainages, the outfall from the plant eventually discharged into Crab Orchard Lake. The wastewater treatment plant and surrounding area, which covers approximately 50 acres, became contaminated with hazardous substances, such as polychlorinated biphenyls, heavy metals, pesticides, and dioxins. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS),...
