The TIGER Roads dataset was clipped to the Utah and Colorado Plateau Ecoregion study site boundary by Conservation Biology Institute. The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The All Roads Shapefile includes all features within the MTDB Super Class "Road/Path Features"...

This dataset provides an estimate of current terrestrial intactness (i.e. condition) based on the extent to which human impacts such as agriculture, urban development, natural resource extraction, and invasive species have disrupted the landscape across the Colorado Plateau Ecoregion. Terrestrial intactness values will be high in areas where these impacts are low. This 1 km2 resolution dataset (v2_13F) was created for the Colorado Plateau REA stepdown analysis using the open-source logic modeling framework Environmental Evaluation Modeling System (EEMS). Spatially-explicit logic modeling hierarchically integrates numerous and diverse datasets into composite layers, quantifying information in a continuous rather than...

Agriculture was extracted from the Landfire EVT dataset using the following query:(VALUE = 3999 AND VALUE = 3960) OR "VALUE" in (3755, 3804, 3858, 2862)The Existing Vegetation Type (EVT) layer represents the species composition currently present at a given site. Vegetation map units are primarily derived from NatureServe's Ecological Systems classification, which is a nationally consistent set of mid-scale ecological units. Additional units are derived from NLCD, National Vegetation Classification Standard (NVCS) Alliances, and LANDFIRE specific types. EVTs are mapped using decision tree models, field data, Landsat imagery, elevation, and biophysical gradient data. Decision tree models are developed separately for...

Development was extracted from the National Land Cover Dataset (impervious areas) and combined with data from the Landfire EVT dataset identified using the following query:"VALUE" in (3800, 3801, 3802, 3803, 3857, 3860, 3861, 3295, 3296, 3297, 3298, 3299) AND VALUE = 3767 AND VALUE =3770 AND VALUE = 3900 AND VALUE = 3959). 0Aquatic Intactness (v20aF), Utah & COPThis dataset provides an estimate of current aquatic intactness (i.e. condition) based on the extent to which human impacts such as water demand, agriculture, urban development, natural resource extraction, dams, diversions, and alterations have disrupted the hydrology, water quality, and habitat quality of aquatic systems across the state of Utah and the Colorado Plateau. Aquatic intactness values will be high in areas where these impacts are low. This HUC6 (12-Digit NHD Hydrologic Unit Code) resolution dataset was created for the Colorado Plateau REA stepdown analysis using the open-source logic modeling framework Environmental Evaluation Modeling System (EEMS). Updated EPA impaired waters data was combined with the data used in the 2011 COP REA by the Conservation Biology Institute. The three dataset types (point, line, polygon) were converted to raster (at 30m resolution) to facilitate coverage calculations across reporting units. The resulting EPA impaired waters raster was clipped to the study area of Utah and the Colorado Plateau Ecoregion.Original Metadata:The 303(d) Listed Impaired Waters program system provides impaired water data and impaired water features reflecting river segments, lakes, and estuaries designated under Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act. Each State will establish Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) for these waters. Note the CWA Section 303(d)...
