The 'Mineral Resources Potential of Stillwater Complex and Adj. Rocks' file is part of the Grover Heinrichs mining collection. Grover was the Vice President of Heinrichs GEOEXploration, located in Tucson, Arizona. The collection contains over 1,400 folders including economic geology reports, maps, photos, correspondence, drill logs and other related materials. The focus of much of the information is on the western United States, particularly Arizona, but the collection also includes files on mining activity throughout the United States, foreign countries, and 82 mineral commodities.

This dataset represents land cover for southeastern Wyoming including the portion of Laramie County from Interstate 25 west, all of Albany and Carbon Counties and part of Sweetwater county. The landcover map was developed from Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM+) data acquired in the summer of 2002 using a series of unsupervised classifications and guided labeling of classes based on field data. The map was created between 2002 and 2004 for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department as part of a larger spatial database designed to be used to help guide their land management activities, particularly in shrublands. The original resolution of this map is 30 meters, the full resolution of the Landsat multispectral data....

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release for the geologic map of the Arlington quadrangle, Carbon County, Wyoming, is a Geologic Map Schema (GeMS, 2020)-compliant version of the printed geologic map published in USGS Geologic Map Quadrangle GQ-643 (Hyden and others, 1967). The database represents the geology for the 35,776-acre map plate at a publication scale of 1:24,000. References: Hyden, H.J., King, J.S., and Houston, R.S., 1967, Geologic map of the Arlington quadrangle, Carbon County, Wyoming: U.S. Geological Survey, Geologic Quadrangle Map GQ-643, scale 1:24,000; https://doi.org/10.3133/gq643. This dataset contains quality-assurance and quality-control data (QA/QC) not publicly available in the online National Water Information System (NWIS) for the Pennsylvania Groundwater Monitoring Network collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in Pennsylvania, 2015-2019. The quality-control data (such as blanks and replicates) were collected at a subset of sites to ensure that the data meets specific data-quality objectives of this program. Also included in this data release are the supplemental tables for the accompanying USGS publication “Characterization of Ambient Groundwater Quality within a State-wide, Fixed Station Monitoring Network in Pennsylvania, 2015-2019.” The supplemental tables consist of: 1)...

The data release encapsulates geospatial data in support of the regional scale study, Coal Geology and Assessment of Coal Resources and Reserves in the Little Snake River coal field and Red Desert assessment area, Greater Green River Basin, Wyoming. The assessment area covers about 2,300 square miles of the Eastern portion of the 15,400 square mile Greater Green River Basin in Southwestern Wyoming. This release includes geospatial data for the study area boundary, depth to coal, thickness of coal, outcrops and reliability. These data were compiled from numerous sources, the primary one being a database of point data that resides in a separate data release.

The recent proliferation of oil and natural gas energy development in the Greater Green River Basin of southwest Wyoming has accentuated the need to understand wildlife responses to this development. The location and extent of surface disturbance that is created by oil and natural gas well pad scars are key pieces of information used to assess the effects of energy infrastructure on wildlife populations and habitat. A digital database of oil and natural gas pad scars had previously been generated from 1-meter (m) National Agriculture Imagery Program imagery (NAIP) acquired in 2009 for a 7.7-million hectare (ha) (19,026,700 acres) region of southwest Wyoming (Garman and McBeth, 2014). Scars included the pad area...

This shapefile contains land status and Federal mineral ownership of the Hanna and Carbon Basins, Wyoming. The polygon shapefile contains two attributes of ownership information for each polygon. One attribute indicates where the surface is State owned, privately owned, or, if Federally owned, which Federal agency manages the land surface. The other attribute indicates which minerals, if any, are owned by the Federal govenment. This coverage is based on land status and Federal mineral ownership data compiled by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the Wyoming State Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at a scale of 1:24,000. These data were compiled primarily to serve the USGS National Coal Resource Assessment Projects...
This Scientific Data Release is a spatial geodatabase representation of Braun, D. D., 1996, Surficial geology of the Allentown 30x60-minute quadrangle: Pennsylvania Geological Survey, 4th ser., Open-File Report 96–48, 17 p., 1 map, scale 1:100,000. These geospatial data depict surficial geologic materials in the Pennsylvania portion of the Allentown 30 x 60-minute quadrangle in eastern Pennsylvania. The map area shows the effects of at least three Pleistocene glacial advances. The report map is a compilation and revision of published and unpublished, 1:24,000-scale, detailed-reconnaissance maps. Types of surficial geologic units include 14 anthropogenic, 8 alluvial or wetland, 16 colluvial, and 12 Wisconsinan, Illinoian,...

This is a vector line coverage file showing the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail in the Lander and Rawlins Field Offices. The coordinates for this dataset were collected using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. Volunteers, using a Trimble ProXL receiver, mapped the trail in the summer of 2001 by walking and driving the trail segments. As this is a "new" trail, some segments did not exist as a feature on the ground, so the volunteers marked the trail with carsonite signs and mapped these segments also.

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release provides a digital geospatial database for the geologic map of Precambrian metasedimentary rocks of the Medicine Bow Mountains, Albany and Carbon Counties, Wyoming (Houston and Karlstrom, 1992). Attribute tables and geospatial features (points, lines and polygons) conform to the Geologic Map Schema (GeMS, 2020) and represent the geologic map plates as published at a scale of 1:50,000. The 358,697-acre map area includes the geologically complex Medicine Bow Mountains located 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Laramie in southeastern Wyoming. References: Houston, R.S., and Karlstrom, K.E., 1992, Geologic map of Precambrian metasedimentary rocks of the Medicine Bow Mountains,...
