Cruise ship ports in the Caribbean and intensity of visitation. This dataset was created on 24th April 2003 and represents all cruise ports in the Wider Caribbean and the number of calls by cruise ships that are scheduled between 1st May 2003 and 1st may 2004. Cruise ships alter their ports of call from year to year and there are other destinations that have not been included in this dataset, as no ships are scheduled.
This dataset is an inventory of Marine Protected Areas in the Wider Caribbean region with their point locations. This list was developed under the Reefs at Risk Caribbean project and relied on literature and other studies. Gathering information on MPAs across the region is very difficult and, as such, this list does not pertain to be exhaustive or complete. Additionally, as the dataset was developed for the purpose of gaining a better understanding of protection afforded coral reefs - there may be some selective bias towards those directly relevant to coral reefs (for example, no protected turtle nesting beaches are in the dataset). However, at the time of production of this inventory, spatial information and assessment...
This dataset depicts watershed boundaries with a minimum size of 35 square kilometers for the Caribbean region.
Agriculture, though important to economic development and food security, is a source of increased sediment, nutrient, and pesticide runoff. Threats from sedimentation and pollution from inland sources were modeled for over 3,000 watersheds discharging into the Caribbean.
An indicator of relative sediment delivery at the river mouth for each of over 3,000 watersheds draining into the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.

Threats to coral reefs from marine-based sources evaluated based on distance to ports, stratified by size; intensity of cruise ship visitation; and distance to oil and gas infrastructure, processing, and pipelines.
This dataset represents polygon coverage of sites included in the inventory of Marine Protected Areas in the Wider Caribbean devloped under the Reefs at Risk Caribbean project. The availability of polygon is limited. The full inventory of MPAs for the Wider Caribbean can be found in the accompanying point dataset developed under the project. Points with no polygon coverage are not included in this dataset. This dataset does not represent the full inventory.

Summary statistics for relative erosion rate (REP), river flow, and sediment delivery estimated for each of over 3,000 watersheds draining into the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. This dataset is a combination of the region wide 1 km analysis and the higher resolution 270 m analysis for the islands of the eastern caribbean.
