From August 2018 to October 2019, the U.S. Geological Survey collected spatially high-resolution water quality data as part of five shoreline synoptic surveys around the perimeters of Owasco, Seneca, and Skaneateles Lakes within the Finger Lakes Region of New York. Water-quality data were collected just below water surface utilizing YSI EXO2 multiparameter sondes and portable nitrate sensors paired with real-time GPS data as part of a HABs monitoring program in the Finger Lakes. In October 2019, water-quality data collection was paired with discrete phytoplankton grab samples on Owasco Lake and Seneca Lake. Phytoplankton grab samples were collected just below water surface with a peristaltic pump at twelve locations...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release provides continuously-measured water-quality data collected from two sites on Milford Lake, Kansas, during July 26-27 and August 30-31, 2015. All data are reported as raw measured values and are not rounded to USGS significant figures. Water-quality monitors were used to measure water temperature, specific conductance, turbidity, pH, chlorophyll, phycocyanin, and dissolved oxygen at fifteen-minute intervals. This dataset includes all continuously measured data collected at two short-term, fixed-site locations as part of a study to evaluate the spatial variability of harmful algal blooms in Milford Lake, Kansas.

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides data collected from sediment oxygen demand (SOD) deployments conducted at eight stream sites in eastern Kansas during August 2014 through December 2015. Continuous water-quality monitors were used to measure water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, specific conductance, turbidity, and total algae (chlorophyll-a and phycocyanin) at thirty second intervals. All data are reported as raw measured values and are not rounded to USGS significant figures. The dataset includes all water-quality data collected during sediment oxygen demand deployments.

In this data release, we provide data to describe the water quality in Green Lake, Wisconsin, from 1905 to 2020, primarily the constituents for which it is impaired, including near-surface total phosphorus concentrations and metalimnetic dissolved oxygen concentrations, and quantify the water and phosphorus inputs to the lake. We also provide inputs to and outputs from the General Lake Model coupled to the Aquatic Ecodynamics modeling library (GLM-AED) hydrodynamic water-quality model to describe the factors that have caused low dissolved oxygen concentrations in the metalimnion of Green Lake; and quantify how changes in phosphorus loading should affect near-surface total phosphorus and chlorophyll-a concentrations,...
Optical measurements collected from the Colorado River, near Lees Ferry, Arizona, September 23, 2019
To support an investigation of the feasibility of measuring river bathymetry using a polarizing lidar sensor, optical measurements were collected from the Colorado River near Lees Ferry, Arizona on September 23, 2019. Optical measurements were collected with a WET Labs ECO which measures the turbidity and concentration of colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) and chlorophyll. Absorption and attenuation coefficients were collected with a WET Lab ac-s instrument.

To support an investigation of the feasibility of measuring river bathymetry using remotely sensed data acquired from a small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS), optical and sediment measurements were collected from the Blue River and Colorado River near Kremmling, CO on October 17-18, 2018. Optical measurements were collected with a WET Labs ECO which measures the turbidity and concentration of colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) and chlorophyll. Absorption and attenuation coefficients were collected with a WET Labs ac-s instrument. The concentration and mean size of suspended sediment were collected with a LIST 100X sensor.

To support an investigation of the feasibility of measuring river bathymetry using remotely sensed data acquired from a small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS), optical and sediment measurements were collected from the Colorado River near Parshall, CO on June 13, 2019.
