The new riparian community comprises several species, including saltcedar, seep willow, waterweed, Emory seep willow, cattail, and desert isocoma. A rock avalanche at upper right is new since 1923. Fuller Canyon has a wide grass-covered floor which is bordered by a forest of pine, spruce, and some aspen. An old arroyo in Fuller Canyon that was deepened and slightly widened by the flood. Album caption and index card: Mescal pit damaged by the flood of December 1966 along Clear Creek. Cross sections of the mescal pit exposed mainly by lateral cutting during the flood. Depth of cutting is about equal to the height of the man. Wood debris gives an indication of the flood crest. Grand Canyon National Park, Coconino County, Arizona. ca. 1966. Renewed arroyo cutting in Outlet Canyon between a point about 0.50 mi (0.8 km) downstream from the Point Sublime Trail and the edge of the plateau; the cutting deepended the old channel 1-2 ft (0.3-0.6 m).
