This data set contains imagery from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP). The NAIP program is administered by USDA FSA and has been established to support two main FSA strategic goals centered on agricultural production. These are, increase stewardship of America's natural resources while enhancing the environment, and to ensure commodities are procured and distributed effectively and efficiently to increase food security. The NAIP program supports these goals by acquiring and providing ortho imagery that has been collected during the agricultural growing season in the U.S. The NAIP ortho imagery is tailored to meet FSA requirements and is a fundamental tool used to support FSA farm and conservation programs....

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force Academy, carried out bathymetry surveys to better characterize the 2019 water-supply capacity of Deadmans Lake; Golf Course Reservoir 9; Ice Lake; Kettle Lakes 1, 2, and 3; and Non-Potable reservoirs 1, 2, 3, and 4 at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. Survey points from bathymetry and terrestrial datasets were collected using real-time kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) at each of the aforementioned lakes or reservoirs and merged in geographic information system software, ArcMap, to produce continuous topographic datasets with common horizontal and vertical datums (North American Datum [NAD] 83 and North American...

The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with Colorado Springs Utilities, has been collecting topographic data annually since 2012 at 10 study areas along Fountain Creek, Colorado. The 10 study areas are located along Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs and the confluence of Fountain Creek and the Arkansas River in Pueblo. This data release presents topographic survey data, Light Detection and Ranging (lidar) survey data, and elevation rasters collected or generated during 2020 as part of that monitoring effort. Topographic survey points were collected using real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems (RTK-GNSS). These point data, along with lidar point clouds, were used to generate 2020 digital...

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering Center conducted short-term aquifer tests at 11 wells to estimate hydraulic properties in the Fountain Creek alluvial aquifer, in El Paso County, Colorado. Data were collected in July 2019 over three days. Single-hole pumping and recovery tests were completed at five wells, and multiple single-hole displacement (solid slug) tests were conducted at all 11 wells. This data release contains water-level data collected at various time intervals (0.25 seconds, 0.5 seconds, and variable during a manual test with a stopwatch) and well-discharge rates for the aquifer tests in comma separated value (CSV) files for the 34 tests analyzed....

In 2012, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with Colorado Springs Utilities selected 10 reaches or study areas along Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs and the confluence of Fountain Creek at the Arkansas River for annual bed and bank characterization and topographic surveys. The 10 selected study areas are approximately 5 to 20 bank-full channel widths in length. The topographic surveys collected point data of location and elevation in the active channel and along both left and right banks and flood plains. Starting in 2012, USGS personnel have collected topographic survey data annually during the winter, spring, or summer using real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems. These point...

In 2012, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Colorado Water Science Center in cooperation with Colorado Springs Utilities selected 10 reaches or study area along Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs and the confluence of Fountain Creek at the Arkansas River for annual bed and bank characterization and topographic surveys. The 10 selected study areas are approximately 5 to 20 bank-full channel widths in length. The topographic surveys collected point data of location and elevation in the active channel and along both left and right banks and flood plains. Historically, the topographic data have been collected exclusively using real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems. However, on January 12, 2017,...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Air Force Civil Engineering Center, created a numerical groundwater-flow model for the Fountain Creek alluvial aquifer using the finite-difference MODFLOW code with the Newton formulation solver. This numerical groundwater-flow model simulates water-budget components, groundwater-flow directions, and groundwater-flow paths of the Fountain Creek alluvial aquifer. The numerical model was spatially discretized into a single layer with 291 rows and 254 columns of 200 by 200 feet size, and a total of 17,610 active cell. The numerical model was temporally discretized into 1 initial steady-state stress period representing the average conditions of the 240 monthly...

In 2012, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with Colorado Springs Utilities selected 10 study areas along Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs, Colorado and the confluence of Fountain Creek with the Arkansas River for annual geomorphic monitoring. The purpose of this data release is to present topographic survey data, rasters , and sediment size data collected in 2019 as part of that monitoring effort. Topographic survey points were collected using real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems (RTK-GNSS). These point data were interpolated to generate digital elevation maps (2015 and 2019) and elevation-change maps (from 2015 to 2019) at each study area . In 2019, two types of Unmanned...
