Album caption: Section exposed on Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul railway cut 3 miles northwest of Fall River; Sec. 20, T. 11 N., R. 12 E. Fountain prairie atownship, Columbia County. This cut exposes loess 3-6 ft., stratified sand and sandy clay 1-11/2 ft., glacial till 8 ft., Lower magnesian limestone is expoesed at the bottom of the cut. Wisconsin. June 29, 1909. Album caption: Black Hawk Bluff, 1/2 mile north of Prairie du Sac, Wis. sec. 31 West Point Tp., T. 10 N., R. 7 E.,. This bluff is of Potsdam sandstone capped with lower Magnesian limestone. The ice margin lie across the top of the bluff a few rods east of the point, the latter projecting as a nunatak. Morainal drift hills in the foreground surround the base of the bluff. Wisconsin. Album caption: Wisconsin River showing glacial drift in a ravine in the south bank in Sec. 30, NW 1/4, West Point Tp., T. 10 N., R. 7 E. Two miles above Prairie du Sac. The ravine cuts through about 30 feet of glacial till and into underlying stratified sands. The latter were deposited either during the last ice advance or at an earlier stage, and subsequently covered by the deposit of till. Wisconsin. June 10, 1909.
