Brief halt in portage from head of Dall River to head of Old Man Creek, Alaska. During this portage (photo number 190, 195) the party crossed a mountain range 2500 feet above the stream level and about 18 miles broad carrying boats and equipment. Two boats weighing 100 lbs. and 150 lbs. with 1200 to 1500 lbs. of provisions, instruments, etc. Seven men in party and three hired men.
