This USGS Data Release represents geospatial and tabular data for the Denali Sampling Project. This dataset represents the 'Sample Site Recordings (Finalized Tabular Data)' for the 2015 Sample Data Release. These data support the following publication:Drew A. Ignizio, ScienceBase Team, 2015, SAMPLE Denali Observations from 2010-2015, USGS Open File Report.
This USGS Data Release represents geospatial and tabular data for the Denali Sampling Project. The data release was produced in compliance with the new 'open data' requirements as a way to make the scientific products associated with USGS research efforts and publications available to the public. The dataset consists of 4 separate items: 1. Sample Site Locations (Vector GIS dataset) 2. Sample Transects (Vector GIS dataset) 3. Final Index Score Output (Raster GIS dataset) 4. Sample Site Recordings - Finalized (Tabular dataset) These data support the following publication: Ignizio, D.A., 2015, Sample associated publication: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 2016–xxxx, xx p., http://dx.doi.org/10.3133/ofr2015xxxx.

Denali National Park and Preserve (DENA), located in central Alaska, is home to iconic and dynamic landscapes surrounding the tallest mountain range in North America, the Alaska Range. DENA preserves over 6 million acres of wild land that provides opportunities for recreation, subsistence hunting and gathering, preservation of cultural resources, and scientific research. Despite its size and popularity, DENA has only one road—the dead-end, 92-mile Denali National Park Road (hereafter referred to as the Park Road). The Park Road is mostly gravel; only the first 15 miles are paved. It is the only access for most DENA infrastructure, including visitor centers, staff facilities, campgrounds, and businesses. The Park...

Monosaccharide anhydrides (MAs), or anhydrosugars which include levoglucosan, mannosan, and galactosan are combustion products of cellulose and hemicellulose that are used as biomass burning tracers. These fire biomarkers are incorporated into smoke plumes, transported through the atmosphere, and return to the surface through wet and dry deposition that can be archived in ice cores. Here, we quantify levoglucosan, mannosan, and galactosan through the Denali ice core to investigate past North Pacific fire activity.

This dataset details mercury (Hg) stable isotope values in dragonflies and fish tissues collected across U.S. National Parks. Dragonfly samples were collected as part of the Dragonfly Mercury Project (https://geonarrative.usgs.gov/dmp/), a citizen science project focused on using dragonfly larvae as biosentinels for Hg bioaccumulation. Fish were collected as part of separate park-wide monitoring initiatives. Biological samples were collected from 2014-2019 and composited for Hg stable isotopes measurements by the U.S. Geological Survey Contaminant Ecology Research Laboratory (CERL, Corvallis, Oregon). Measurements for Hg isotopes were performed by the U.S. Geological Survey Mercury Research Laboratory (MRL, Madison,...
