Lake Erie walleye (Stizostedion vitreum) recruitment fluctuates annually and depends partially on their diet and growth during their first year of life. To determine how age-0 walleye have responded to changes in prey species and abundance, larval and young of year walleye were collected from western Lake Erie in 2019 and 2014. Larval and young of year fish stomachs were extracted and dissected, with prey contents removed for later identification. All prey contents were identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level using a dissecting microscope and counted, with up to 20 prey items from each taxa per fish measured (0.01 mm) using a digital computer image analysis system. These data consist of juvenile lake trout biological and diet information collected from USGS bottom trawl, beam trawl, and gillnet surveys in Lake Michigan from 2015-2017 and 2019-2022. All prey were identified, enumerated and weighed. Only fish prey and Mysis had lengths measured.

This data set includes environmental and biological information on fishes collected using gill nets and otter trawls during day and night, as well as diet data for Striped bass and Sacramento pikeminnow obtained via gastric lavage. Expansion of renewable energy development is rapidly transforming the Mojave Desert landscape and has the potential to impact Golden Eagles through loss of foraging habitat and reduced prey base. Regional information on Golden Eagle food habits is limited and little is known of how dietary variability influences eagle productivity.
