This map service is used in MyWATERS Mapper to display the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit status of facilities by state. Water pollution degrades surface waters making them unsafe for drinking, fishing, swimming, and other activities. This map service contains GIS data in Web Mercator from the EPA Office of Water for the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) integrated with reach-related information from the USEPA Reach File Version 3.0-Alpha release (RF3-Alpha). This service also includes hydrographic landmark features in NHD. It is available as a WMS, KML, and REST service as well as the native MapServer service.
