This coverage includes arcs, polygons and polygon labels that describe U.S. Geological Survey defined geologic provinces of the Africa. Each province has a set of geologic characteristics distinguishing it from surrounding provinces. This data release is part of a 2016-2019 study on the geology, geochemistry and geochronology of ore systems in the eastern Yukon-Tanana Upland region, Alaska. Whole rock chemistry was conducted on 185 samples, mostly from Au prospects, with lesser samples from porphyry Cu prospects. Geographically, most samples are from gold prospects near the Pogo Au mine and east to Black Mountain in the Big Delta quadrangle. A mineral resource assessment was performed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to assess the potential of undiscovered skarn-hosted tungsten resources in the Northern Rocky Mountain region of eastern Idaho and western Montana. This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne radiometric survey over parts of Montana in the vicinity of the Boulder Batholith. In 2021, the California Geological Survey was awarded a grant (G21AP10259-00) in part to conduct digitization of historical mineral resource zonation and geologic maps of Open File Report 85-15, Mineral Land Classification of the Northern Part of The Kingman 1 x 2 degree Quadrangle, San Bernardino County, California. This project is supported in part by funding from the USGS NGGDPP which aims to convert historical paper geologic reports and maps into digital formats, among other data preservation activities. This report was chosen because of its proximity to the Mountain Pass Rare Earth Element Mine and ongoing mapping by the CGS as part of an EarthMRI funded project in the New York Mountains.
