This data release includes 40Ar/39Ar data from the U.S. Geological Survey for samples from the Gidami gold deposit in the Eastern Desert of Egypt. Rock samples were collected by Basem Zoheir--Benha University/University of Kiel. Potassium-bearing mineral grains were separated from the bulk sample and analyzed by argon geochronology at the U.S. Geological Survey Bascom ARgon Dating (BARD) Laboratory in Reston, Virginia. The data constrain the timing of gold mineralization in the Gidami gold deposit.
Cassiterite (SnO2) samples were collected from alluvial ore concentrate from the Abu Dabbab Granite in eastern Egypt. Samples (in the form of mounted loose grains) were prepared and analyzed for direct age dating on a laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (LA-ICPMS) system at the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver, Colorado in February 2019. This data release presents the Yale stocks and flows database (YSTAFDB). Its data describe the use of 102 materials from the early 1800s to circa 2013 through anthropogenic cycles, their recycling and criticality properties, and on spatial scales ranging from suburbs to global. This data collection was previously scattered across multiple non-uniformly formatted files such as journal papers, reports, and unpublished spreadsheets. This data release includes electron microprobe and 40Ar/39Ar collected at the U.S. Geological Survey for samples from the Sukari gold deposit in the Eastern Desert of Egypt. Rock samples were collected by Basem Zoheir--Benha University/University of Kiel. Muscovite from a polished thick section of sericitized wall rock was analyzed by electron probe microanalysis at the U.S. Geological Survey, Reston Electron Microbeam Laboratory.
