This study focuses on a 67 attribute lake cover classification scheme covering the Bering Land Bridge area of the Seward Peninsula, Alaska. The GIS dataset consists of 5170 lakes (which were extracted from a 5m resolution ifSAR/orthophoto image) and provides information on lake morphometry, hydrologic connectivity, surface area dynamics, surrounding terrestrial ecotypes, bedfast percentage, and other important conditions. The Seward Peninsula lake habitat study classification system provides lake specific information for a coastal peninsula area that will guide research and aid in the management of the natural environment.

This study focuses on the development of a 20 attribute lake cover classification scheme for the Fish Creek Watershed (FCW), which is located in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A). The GIS dataset consists of 4,362 lakes (which were extracted from a 5m resolution IfSAR/orthophoto image) covering 18% of the 4,900 km2 FCW and provides information on lake morphometry, hydrologic connectivity, surface area dynamics, surrounding terrestrial ecotypes, and other important aquatic conditions. The FCW lake cover classification scheme provides lake specific information for an arctic watershed that will guide research and aid in the management of the natural and human-modified environment.

A combination of citizen science inventories and expert assessments will be used to collect critical baseline information on known spring and seep resources using the Spring Ecosystem Inventory and Assessment Protocols and adapting them as needed for the unique arid Sky Island ecosystems. The assessment will collect information on channel morphology, riparian and wetland vegetation, water quality, aquatic macroinvertebrates, and wildlife. Sky Island Alliance will develop science and conservation-based guidance to assist natural resource managers in responding to expected climate change and other stressors on springs ecosystems in sky island regions of the Desert LCC. This dataset provides the geographical locations of karst groundwater basins, groundwater flowpaths, and dye injection/recovery points in Kentucky. Dye tracing is a common method used for understanding groundwater flow pathways and connectivity. Dye is poured (or injected) into a sinking stream, well, sinkhole, or body of flowing water, where it is carried down-gradient. The locations at which dye is detected (or recovered) indicates a connection from injection to recovery site. This connection is a groundwater flowpath. Lake polygons within the Fish Creek Watershed, Alaska were created and classified for a number of variables relevant to size, depth, hydrology, connectivity etc. Products derived from a 5m resolution IfSAR digital surface model by calculating a zero slope. Each feature was expanded by one pixel around the entire perimeter since all waterbodies were truncated by this during the slope calculation. Lakes >=1ha were manually extracted from the dataset and their perimeters further corrected using 2002 CIR orthophotography.
