This data release contains compiled historical groundwater-withdrawal data for the Coastal Lowlands Aquifer System in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida from 1925 to 2018. Most groundwater-withdrawals were distributed to groundwater wells and separated into water-use categories of industrial, production wells, power generation, mining, domestic, irrigation, livestock or commercial. Groundwater-withdrawal data were obtained, where available, from existing database resources hosted by various State and Federal agencies. For Texas, data were obtained from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) from both existing Groundwater Availability Models (GAM), and from historical groundwater-withdrawal data....

Gravity data were collected from 2016 through 2018 to assist in mapping subsurface geology in northeastern Iowa. This data release provides principal facts for 1080 new gravity stations that were acquired to supplement existing public gravity data coverage. An investigation was completed by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs that found 1,132 transportation and utility assets in Indiana are vulnerable to fluvial erosion hazards due to close proximity to actively migrating streams. Locations of transportation assets (bridges, roadways, and railroad lines) and selected utility assets (high-capacity overhead power-transmission lines, underground pipelines, water treatment facilities, and in-channel dams) were determined using aerial imagery hosted by the Google Earth platform. This dataset is a polygon coverage of counties limited to the extent of the Pocahontas No. 3 coal bed resource areas. The eastern limit of the coal bed is along the Allegheny structural front, where the bed is either folded to vertical, overturned to the northwest, or covered by thrust sheets in the western part of the Valley and Ridge Province. The western limit of minable coal is in the subsurface and was selected at the 14-inch isoline. The file has been generalized from detailed geologic coverages found elsewhere in Professional Paper 1625-C.
This dataset is a polygon coverage of counties limited to the extent of the Pond Creek coal bed resource areas. Resource areas are only a subset of the entire areal extent of the Pond Creek coal zone. This resource model for the Pond Creek coal must be considered preliminary, because the correlation of the zone continues to be evaluated in West Virginia. The file has been generalized from detailed geologic coverages found elsewhere in Professional Paper 1625-C. The Pond Creek coal zone is known by multiple names, depending on locale, even within a single State.
