These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. Digital surfaces and thicknesses of selected hydrogeologic units of the Floridan aquifer system were developed to define an updated hydrogeologic framework as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Resources Program. This feature class contains a polygon depicting the extent of relatively shallow brackish and saline water in the Floridan aquifer system in southwestern Georgia and part of panhandle Florida.

This feature class contains data points used to generate est_10000_TDS raster. It also includes "control" points used to map the 10,000 boundary including time-domeain electromagnetic soundings, data source is...

This data represent a compilation of seagrass information for areas along the Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas coasts from various source agencies. Seagrass areas were mapped from aerial photography taken between 1987 to 1999. The original source data were not all classified in the same manner, but the information from each of these sources was maintained in the final results.

This feature class contains polygons depicting areas of the Floridan aquifer system that may have greater than 10,000 mg/L of TDS or is fresh throughout its thickness to the base of system.
The dataset entitled “imputedsalt_PanHa” holds data structures to be relayed to statistical modeling of salinity in near-coastal environments of the Northern Gulf of Mexico. The content therein is created by the ‘covardr2formodel.R’ script that represents terminal decisions on variable setup and transformations. The design ideal is that the content of this directory would be copied to some path of “input” within a model building repository. The table in this directory would be especially suitable for both (1) formal data releases supporting as needed interpretive publications and (2) simultaneous long-term storage as copies within a model building repository in some specific terminal decisions (variable transforms...

Digital surfaces and thicknesses of selected hydrogeologic units of the Floridan aquifer system were developed to define an updated hydrogeologic framework as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Resources Program. This feature class contains a gridded surface depicting the altitude of the 10,000 mg/L total dissolved solids (TDS) boundary in reference to NGVD29. Surface is based on estimated TDS computed from geophysical...
