This digital publication, GPR 2008-1, contains geophysical data and a digital elevation model that were produced from airborne geophysical surveys conducted in 2007 for part of the western Fortymile mining district, east-central Alaska. Aeromagnetic and electromagnetic data were acquired for 250 sq miles during the helicopter-based survey. Data provided in GPR 2008-1 include processed (1) linedata ASCII database, (2) gridded files of magnetic data, a calculated vertical magnetic gradient (first vertical derivative), apparent resistivity data, and a digital elevation model, (3) vector files of data contours and flight lines, and (4) the Contractor's descriptive project report. Data are described in more detail in...

From June 12-21, 2017, the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) geologists carried out geologic mapping and geochemical sampling in the northeastern Tanacross D-1, and parts of the C-1, and D-2 quadrangles. The project area lies within the Yukon-Tanana Uplands, and encompasses the boundary between Fortymile and Lake George assemblages. It includes porphyry copper-molybdenum-gold deposits and prospects including: Taurus, Fishhook (also known as SW Pika), and Pika Canyon, and is adjacent to the Fortymile Mining District to the north. Highlights of this geochemical report include sampling and characterization of the Pika Canyon, Fishhook, and Taurus prospects. This dataset contains four samples...

The Fortymile electromagnetic and magnetic airborne geophysical survey data were acquired with a DIGHEM-V Electromagnetic (EM) system and a cesium magnetometer. The EM and magnetic sensors were flown at a height of 30 meters (m). In addition the survey recorded data from radar and laser altimeters, a GPS navigation system, 50/60 Hz monitors and a video camera. Flights were performed with an AS-350-B2 Squirrel helicopter at a mean terrain clearance of 60 m along N-S survey flight lines with a spacing of 400 m. Tie lines were flown perpendicular to the flight lines at intervals of approximately 4,800 m

Airborne geophysical data for the Tanacross area were acquired and processed by Goldak Airborne Surveys under contract with the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS). Project funded by the US Geological Survey, Mineral Resources Program. This high sensitivity aeromagnetic survey was carried out by Goldak Airborne Surveys (Goldak) on behalf of the Alaska Department of Geological and Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) between June 17th and July 31st, 2015. Aircraft equipment operated included three cesium vapor magnetometers, a GPS/GLONASS real-time and post-corrected differential positioning system, a flight path recovery camera, a digital video titling and...

The Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) has conducted 1:63,360-scale geologic mapping of the Eagle A-2 Quadrangle (270 square miles; equivalent to four 7.5-minute quadrangles). The area is part of the 100-year old Fortymile mining district and is located in eastern Alaska near the Alaska-Yukon border. This map illustrates the distribution of a variety of unconsolidated deposits and undifferentiated bedrock in the Eagle A-2 Quadrangle, Fortymile mining district. It was prepared by the interpretation of 1:63,360-scale, false-color, infrared aerial photographs taken from July 1978 through August 1981 and is locally verified by ground observations during field visits. The results should be considered...

This map illustrates potential near-surface sources of various geologic materials that may be useful for construction. Field observations indicate that each geologic unit (for example, stream alluvium) has a definite composition or range of composition. Therefore, the probable presence of materials is interpreted from the distribution of geologic units on the geologic map of this quadrangle....

This geologic map was produced by merging a bedrock geologic map and a surficial geologic map of the Eagle A-2 Quadrangle and based upon results from field investigations by DGGS in 1999 and 2000, which were part of a three-year mapping program to provide geologic ground truth for airborne geophysical surveys flown by DGGS in the Fortymile mining district during 1998.

This digital publication, GPR 2011-1, contains data produced from airborne geophysical surveys conducted in 2010 for the Ladue survey area in the Fortymile mining district, Tanacross quadrangle, eastern Alaska. Aeromagnetic and electromagnetic (EM) data were acquired by helicopter for about 742 sq miles. Fugro Airborne Survey's frequency-domain DIGHEM V system was used for the EM data. GPR 2011-1 includes (1) raw and processed linedata; (2) gridded, Google Earth, and Geotiff formats of the calculated linedata; (3) maps of the data; and (4) vector files of data contours and flight lines.

This bedrock geologic map was produced by using airborne magnetic and electromagnetic surveys, data and notes from several months of fieldwork, geochemical data, and laboratory investigations. These maps are the result of new field investigations in the Eagle A-1 Quadrangle by DGGS in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Field investigations are part of a three-year mapping program to provide geologic ground truth for airborne geophysical surveys flown by DGGS in the Fortymile mining district during 1998.

This geologic map was produced by merging a bedrock geologic map and a surficial geologic map of the Eagle A-1 Quadrangle. Surficial geologic units were determined by a combination of air photo interpretation and site-specific field investigations. Bedrock geologic units were determined by using a combination of airborne magnetic and electromagnetic surveys, several months of fieldwork, geochemical data, and laboratory investigations. These maps are the result of new field investigations by DGGS in 1999 and 2001.
