In February 2017, a population of California red-legged frog Rana draytonii was discovered in the southern foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains of Riverside County, California, near the edge of the species’ historic distribution. A few days after the first sightings of R. draytonii at the Whitewater Preserve, we conducted a visual daytime search for frogs, tadpoles and egg masses followed by a nighttime eye shine search for adult frogs. The captured frog weighed, measured (snout-to-urostyle [SU]), sampled for tissue and georeferenced using a GPS unit. These data represent occupancy surveys conducted in long-term monitoring sites in Yosemite National Park in 2018 for three anurans, the Yosemite Toad (Anaxyrus canorus), the Sierran Treefrog (Pseudacris sierra), and the Sierra Nevada Yellow-legged Frog (Rana sierrae). The data include independent double-observer surveys and time-to-detection data to calculate detection probabilities and account for false negatives, or the failure to detect a species at a site where it occurs. These data consist of Level 1 field-verified, field-verified (F-V) with supplemental data, and remotely-sensed (potential) vernal pool locations submitted to the Vernal Pool Data Cooperative (VPDC) by cooperators from Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Quebec, and Vermont. The dataset contains the recorded locations of amphibians collected in Southeast Alaska from 1867 to 2002. The records were compiled from 15 university and museum collections in the US and Canada. The data contain records for the following species: Northwestern Salamander, Long-toed Salamander, Roughskin Newt, Western Toad, Pacific Chorus Frog, Columbia Spotted Frog, Wood Frog, and the Red-legged Frog.
