Structure-from-Motion (SfM) point clouds were created from images collected using an unmanned aerial system over the bluffs of the eastern shore of Lake Michigan in Miami Park rural residential area. Images were collected in four separate instances on July 9, August 10, September 1, and October 18, 2019 and cover similar extent. The images were collected in jpg format and include Exif metadata with GPS date, time, and latitude and longitude, copyright, keywords, and other fields. Point clouds were created from the collected images using SfM photogrammetric software.
![]() Images were collected using an unmanned aerial system over the bluffs of eastern shore of Lake Michigan in Miami Park rural residential area, Allegan County, MI. Images were collected in four separate instances on July 9, August 10, September 1, and October 18, 2019 and cover similar extent. Images were collected to monitor active bluff erosion in the area. The images are presented here in zipped files grouped by month and collection. The images were collected in jpg format and include Exif metadata with GPS date, time, and latitude and longitude, copyright, keywords, and other fields. These files were used in structure-from-motion (SfM) processing to obtain georeferenced 3D data. The 3D derived data are in las...
This data release includes information used to support the manuscript "Linking mesoscale meteorology with extreme landscape response: effects of narrow cold frontal rainbands (NCFR)". The included datasets and supplement include information related to the 22 March 2018 NCFR and associated shallow landslides in the Toulumne Canyon triggered by this event. The three datasets and one supplemental information document are: 1) mapped landslides where we created polygons for each landslide that occurred (Tuolumne Canyon Landslide Data Storm of 22 March 2018.kmz), 2) soil grain size data for landslide source and depositional zones (Tuolumne Canyon Grain Size Data Storm of 22 March 2018.xlsx), 3) a time series of rainfall...

This data release includes information used to support interpretations of relations between precipitation and soil moisture for a U.S. Geological Survey post-fire monitoring array installed near Malibu, CA following the 2007 Canyon fire. The 3 datasets are: 1) a time series of precipitation from three tipping bucket rain gages in individual files (Schmidt_2020_CANVQRG1.csv, Schmidt_2020_CANVQRG2.csv, and Schmidt_2020_CANTPRG3.csv; where RG in file name is abbreviation for rain gage), 2) a time series of a total of 9 soil moisture probes distributed with three soil moisture probes installed at varying depths from 3 individual soil pits in 3 individual files grouped by pit (Schmidt_2020_CANVQSM1.csv, Schmidt_2020_CANVQSM2.csv,...
On February 14, 2019, just before 2:56 am local time (Pacific Standard Time), a landslide initiated from the natural hillslopes above the City of Sausalito, California. The landslide, properly identified as a debris flow, overran a road (Sausalito Boulevard) located immediately below the landslide source area, and impacted and destroyed several residential structures. One person was located in one of the residences and survived the disaster after being transported in their home down the slope. The U.S. Geological Survey responded to this event within hours of the landslide and provided situational awareness of possible secondary landslide hazards associated with the event. The USGS also rapidly mobilized its topographic...

A high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey of the southeast Mojave Desert, parts of California and Nevada was flown by EDCON-PRJ, Inc. from December 13, 2019 to March 21, 2020. The high-resolution fixed-wing survey was flown at a flightline spacing of 200 m, an azimuth of 70 degrees, a nominal elevation above ground of 100 m, and consists of about 17,277 line-kilometers. Tie lines were flown at a flightline spacing of 2 km with an azimuth of 160 degrees. Magnetic data were processed by EDCON-PRJ, Inc. and include corrections for diurnal variations of the Earth's magnetic field, magnetic field of the aircraft, tie-line leveled, micro-leveled, and an International Geomagnetic Reference of the Earth...
